Her latest works are works of fantasy and she has created an imaginary place called, Serrenwood in her art. On October 26 there was a feature on a child abuse seminar held at St. Joseph's School in Kingsbridge and another on the Family and Children's Services' Christmas bureau. Shirley Keller wrote a feature on Goderich Manufacturing being sold to Selco Wood Limited owned by Mr. and Mrs. Al Sel•inger, formerly of Goderich. NOVEMBER On November 2 there was a feature on Norma Crawford of Goderich and her ceremics hobby - turned -business. Not only does she now sell ceramic supplies but she teaches and does some custom work as well. There was also a story on Arlene Whiteman of Goderich whose hobby is styling old fashioned dolls from porcelain. She does - everything from making the molds for the dolls to designing their clothes. On November 9 there was a story on two Criminology and Law Enforcement students from Conestoga Cellege who were working at the Goderich Police Station. One was L,prraine MacDonald of Goderich. There was also a story on the first annual memorial service to •.be held at the unidentified seamen's plot in the Maitland Cemetery that day. This ceremony was brought about mainly through the efforts`of Ron Pennington of Goderich, a retired seaman himself. Mr. Pennington is now trying to locate another grave site in Kincardine where unidentified bodies of sailors -who also lost their lives in the Great Storm of 1913 might be buried. On November i6 there was a feature written by W.E. Elliott. on the Colborne Township Carey family. On November 23 there was a feature on Eveleen McDonagh and Linda Hansen, the two new workers at the 1Vinnicipal Day Nursery. Mrs. McDonagh or Mrs. Mac, as the ,children call her, took over as supervisor from Carob: Egener in September and Mrs. Hansen is her assistant. I forgot to give credit in this story to those people on the Goderich Municipal Day Nursery Committee who help to run such a fine nursery so it is mentioned here now. On November 30 we carried a feature on chimney sweep Bob Stephenson of RR 4 Goderich. A boyhood in England where chimney sweeps are somewhat of a tradition and two mishaps which could have been fatal, led him to his profession. He has invested in $3,000 worth of special equipment to help - him do,a professional job. DECEMBER On December 7 we had a feature on Judy Woodall, a mother of two, who has taken up cake decorating as a hobby and now does them for other people aapell. On December 14 we carried a feature on Lily Blanchard, a little lady with a heart of gold. Lily will be 84 years old this month and for 50 years she has been supporting missionaries with her prayers and parcels,. She is also manning the Salvation Army's red kettle at the Suncoast Mall this Christmas collectingfor the poor. She has visited many sick and lonely persons in hospitals and nursing homes over the years and is well loved by all she meets. December 21 was our Christmas issue. I got a break. The kids in the area did a lot of the work by sending in their pic- tures, letters to Santa and Christmas stories.. . All you need to buy is the specially -formulated upholstery cleaner available at Oave's- Ina Ina carpet cleaner IT'S AMAZING...It cleans more efficiently in far Tess time...and because it uses less solution per gallons it's more economical. Steamex is endorsed by major carpet manufacturers. The hot water ex- traction method has been named as one of the most effective methods for cleaning carpet fibers. Six Powerjets put Steamex five times ahead of the other leading rental carpet cleaner. And Steamex has a powerful vacuum with simple controls. It's lightweight and as easy to use as a vacuum cleaner. Try it. You'll be amazed at how efficient it is! Here's why it's better .. . Unlike other leacling carpet cleaners which have 1 or 2 or 3 spray jets, STEAMEX has no fewer than six heavy- duty forged brass spray jets that blast dirt loose for fast professional cleaning. One of the leading carpet. cleaners maintains that its unit will clean approximately 135 sq. ft. per hour. The STEAMEX cleans ap- , proximately 400 sq. ft. per hour - three times as fast. Furthermore, other cleaners have 3 and 5 gallon supply tanks. The STEAMEX has a big 7 gallon tank so you change' the water less and save time and effort. And here's something very important: with the STEAI1,IEX unit, you only have to add 1 ounce of Steamex solution per gallon. One of the other leading carpet cleaners ad- vises you to use two ounces of their solution. It all adds up. STEAMEX cleans more efficientty in Tess time, and because it uses less solution per gallon it keeps your costs down, SOLUTIONS: Steamex 300 is the basic additive for deep -down cleaning. Steamex 500 gets rid of old shampoo build-up. Steamex 700 is for pre -treating heavily - soiled areas.
