People arrive at the patch by the carload to, pick their own fresh berries. Mr. and Mrs. H'azlitt had started about six or seven years ago with a mere quarter acre of strawberries at their home and had ex- panded to 11 acres open daily to thepublic during the three or four -week- long strawberry season. They also have about $11,000 invested in an irrigation system for frost and dry weather protection. Connected with this feature was another on Vanessa Vorshuk, a Windsor girl who was. working for the Hazlitts that summer through a Junior Agriculturalist Program sponsored by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food. Vanessa was really en- joying her "country summer". There was also a feature this week on a leadership training camp held at Camp Menesetung for those who work with disabled or special needs people in institutions, municipalities and senior citizens' homes. 'JULY On July 6 we did a picture feature on a Recognition Luncheon held by the Bluewater Centre in honor of its more than 200 volunteers. There was also a feature by Dave Sykes in this edition about the Rotary_ _Club__ sponsoring an air cadet training program in co-operation with the Department of National Defence. „This .air cadet training program is still going strong and the members are anxiously awaiting their uniforms. They had their first banquet on the evening of December 19. There was also . a feature on summer theatre in this edition, showing that we, 'in Godbrich, are lucky to have such a variety of theatre to choose from -- Huron Country Playhouse in Grand Bend, .. Blyth Summer Theatre, Goderich Little Theatre and even the Stratford Festival which isn't that far away. On July 20 we had a feature on Farm Safety Week for the farm page, always an important topic with the number of farm accidents occurring yearly. We also had a feature on shopping off the beaten.path'at places like the Opportunity Shop run by the Maple Leaf Chapter, I.O.D.E., church bazaars 'like the annual one keld at Christ Church in Port Albert, and flea markets like the one held in the jail yard weekly in the summer. There was a picture in this week of Garry Hunter, the new Crown Attorney, being sworn in. On July 27 we carried a feature on.
