That is the way to a happy new year, said poet Robert
Beattie a few decades ago.
It seems a good idea to end the year with a song but it
takes an old soul to be the optimist, to forgive the
wrong and remember the right. If we could all set this
resolution in our hearts as the year winds down, we

What's music to some is hard on the ears for others.
These junior students at Robertson Memorial
Public School showed different reactions to the
drums and cymbals of the GDCI school band when
the band played a concert at Robertson. Some of the
children listened intently, others chatted with
friends and others covered their ears and wished
the song would end. (photo by Jeff Seddon)
