WISHES
Star light,
Star bright,
Please let my wish come
true,
I would like a toy horse,
Would the horse like
me?
I hope it would,
I don't want to be in the
.blue!

MY SPECIAL DREAM
It was Christmas Eve.
Everybody was asleep
except me. I was thinking
what I was going tp get
for Christmas. I was
hoping I was going to get
a camra. I was so curious
that I went downstairs I
had got it. I went back to
bed after loking it over.
The next morning my
mom called me I woke up
It was all a dream. •

A special family Christmas
CHRISTMAS COMES
BUT ONCE A YEAR
Paul and I had just
finished decorating the
Christmas tree. Carrie,
our little 2 year old sister,
squealed with delight. I
smiled at Paul, he smiled
back. He was a good
brother. I wonder, am I a
good sister?
Christmas was on a
Friday this year.
Although no one cared
what day it was on, as
long as Christmas came.
Ma andI had knitted Paul
and Pa some woolly,
winter socks and -mittens
for their Christmas
present. I made Ma a pot
holder and for Carrie, Ma
and I knitted her a rag
doll.
It was snowing again.
Pa had just announced
that we were going
"sleighing". As we were
singing and "sleighing; ;
we passed the
schoolhouse, which
dismissed its children on
the 20th. How lonely it
looked! With no laughing
children to play in its
playgrounds, or to throw
paper aeroplanes within
its walls. We laughed and
began another verse of
`Jingle Bells'.
We finally got warmed
by the fireplace when Ma
brought in cups of hot
cocoa. Shouts of "hurray'
filled the log -house.
Everyone loved hot
cocoa!
It was Christmas Eve
and everyone knew it,
even 'Jack the dog.
Finally Pa suggested that
we all go to bed. This
proposition was "greeted
with '000' and 'but -but'.
But of course, we were all
climbing the stairs within
seconds. Of course, we all
had to get numerous
drinks of water before
finally settling down for a
long winter sleep; Still no
sugar plum dreams were
being dreamt, as each
one of us were deter-
mined to see the jolly old
elf in person. Soon
though, everyone was
dreaming the morning
awaiting fhem.
As the morning sun
climbed over the hill, so
were' we, climbing out of
bed and racing carefully
down the stairs. When
behold, there standing
before us stood our
Christmas tree, tran-
sformed by the early
morns light. We all
sighed a great big sigh.
Then we all turned our
heads towards the
fireplace, and there, like
a "–miricle, our empty
socks were filled to
overflowing by good old
St. Nick.
Then, the battle " cry
was heard, `Charge' ! The
presents were then at-
tacked by curious hands. -
Carrie was amazed by
her new rag doll.
Paul exclaimed "Just
what I need, socks!"
Then as I tore the last
shred of paper from the
previous gift, much to my
surprise and delight, I
found a new calico dress
just waiting to be worn.
"Well, try it on, Mary"
coaxed Ma. I ran into.,,
Ma's bedroom to change
As I `emerged' I felt like a
new person. Everyone
praised me about how
lovely I looked. I felt so
good.
"Well children, get
ready for Church Ser-
vice," Pa said.
"Oh Ma," I pleaded,
"may I please wear my
lovely new dress?"
• "Certainly you may
Mary," Ma answered
without a sign of doubt in
her voice.
As we entered church,
the pastor greeted us by
Merry Christmas
