HomeMy WebLinkAboutThe Goderich Signal-Star, 1978-12-21, Page 58PAGE 12C—GODERICH SIGNAL -STAR, THURSDAY, DECEMBER 21, 1978 Only two days left - and no shopping Christmas is only 2 /,days away and my grandchildren are coming up for Christmas Holidays. And I haven't even finished Christmas shopping yet. First thing I have to do is put the tree up and decorate it. Then maybe I will string some popcorn and put it on the tree. When the children come up tonight we are going to have a gigantic supper. Then after suppe we will- sit around the fireplace and roast some marshmallows. And after we will all go to bed real. early. Then , the next morning we all got up early and opened all our presents. When the children opened their presents to see what they get they were both sur- prised. That night when the children had to leave they gave me one more present. It was a Siamese kitten. Thank you I said. Then they left and waved good-bye. Lori Good Age 10 Victoria I will have all my children over and my grandchildren and a Christmas tree up and put all the Christmas -present under the tree. I will cook a turkey in the oven and make cakes and pies cookies and all the things you will make when you get 50 years old. When they come we can open the pressent and then eat. Then we can sit and the cookies around to my grandchildren that's what I will do when I get 50 years old. Tracey Ladd Age 10 Victoria When I am 50 years old and have grandchildren I'll have a christmas tree ten feet tall with frills and flashing lights and bells and an angel on the top. I'll have the living room full of christmas decorations such as candles, and pictures. I'll have the big front window full of decorations and the fireplace will be all ablaze. I'll have the christmas records playing and I'll have a ham in the oven and as soon as my grandchildren come over we will eat ham. And we will hand out presents and give all the children candy and after that is all over we all go home to bed. Duane' Horton Age 10 Victoria When I am fifty years old and have grand- children, it will be the same as when I was little. There will be snow, Christmas trees and lots of presents. When you get those things, it feels like you're a little kid again. It -'s still the same Christmas. Genny Madden Age 10 St. Mary's School When I'm fifty years old; Christmas will be out of this world. We will be walking and "driving in the air. The toys will be crazy. My grandchildren will be wearing air masks because of all the • pollution. I think there will be no electricity. They'll have something else instead of electricity. I just hope Christmas isn't forgotten, fifty years from now. Jeffrey Bedard Age 10 St. Mary's School Now a days when it's Christmas, you get a tree and decorate it. Then you buy presents for everyone and they'll buy a present for you. Then on Dec. 24 at night you would have a family get together and you would have turkey and stuffing. You would go to bed early and when you wake up you would see all these gift wrapped 44 • l3sni<Ls hrough our door, pass the finest people in the world ..our clients our friends. Now that's Christmas today but when I'm 50 years old and have grandchildren it won't be quite the same. In 50 years at Christ- mas everything will be done by machines. When you need a tree, you would to a machine store and ask for a .tree, and when you get home, you would see a tree in your living room all decorated. The same thing would happen with the presents and the dinner. So as you see, in 50 years nothing would be the same especially when it's Christmas. Mary Anne O'Neill Age 12 St. Joseph's, Kingsbridge Christmas when I'm fifty, I wonder what it would be like? Would people give money or would they get gifts. Would marsians come down and celebrate with us or would we go to mars bringing turkey and lettuce. I wonder I wonder what I would see. Would they or wouldn't they still have a tree? Would people remember Jesus, or would Santa take his place. Christmas when I'm fifty, I wonder how it would be, Would it still be fun? I wonder, I wonder. Anne Bornath Age 10 Holmesville Public School I think Chistrnas will be alot different. When you go into town you would not go on a sled, snowmobele or in a car. You would go on skis with moters on them. The toys would be louder or silenter. The toys would be odd shaped. Everyone would go into town and celebrate Christmas. The town consal would hand out all the gifts. After all the presents were un- wrapped At dinner everyone would gather at the town hall and eat. The stoaking would be as big as you. Thats what I think Christmas will be like when I am fifty. Stephen Bugler Age 8 Holmesville School "Well it's Christmas eve now grandchildren." I remarked A lmost time for Santa Claus to come with his jet powered sliegh. "Ya! I can hardly wait." Susan yelled "Well wait until tomarrow." I muttered "I hope the time goes fast." Peter chuckled. "Time to go to bed now." I remarked. "Oh it is only eight o'clock." Peter com- plained. "Well if you want Santa to come you'll have to go to bed now." I stated "All right then well go now. Peter and Susan remarked. "Good -night grand- ma." Susan murmured. "Good -night grand- ma." Peter said. Sandi Jo Craig Grade 5 Victoria School' It was in the year 2028 and 3 days before Christmas. What fun it would be to open all the presents. Sue and Brain said at once! Sue asked, "Is Grandma coming soon, yes she going to plan Christmas this year if we like it or not, is that agreed. Yes' "yes. they groan O.K if that settle well let's put . ' up the Christmas tree `Ya' they yelled let me, no its nay turn so what, THATS enough, but mom Brain put the tree base up last year.
