What is :Ghristmas like in other lands? CHRISTMAS IN ENGLAND Land is green, cold and damp. Geese and ducks head South, The winds roar, and . people snore, In their beds, all snug and warm. The people were happy, their hearts were light, for on that night, a star shone bright. Christmas is joyous, and fun for all, but let us not forget,. the meaning behind it all. .Beth Clements Age 10 Colborne Central School CHRISTMAS IN OTHER LANDS On Christmas Eve one night John Parker, was sitting by the fire. "I wonder if Santa will come tonight?" But up in the North Pole, Santa lay in bed. "Darn it, if I don't get rid of this cold I won't be able to visit those good little boys and girls. "There go's the alarm clock" •! "Santa, come on" cried Pushy Santa's favorite elf: So with not so much as a "Ho, Ho, Ho, Santa was out of bed and out of his house in the North Pole with his bag of gifts and all of his rein- deer pulling his sled, he visited all the good little boys and girls. It was funny because all summer we had snow on the ground, but on Christmas day it was hot and there was no snow. The bears were very. happy because they could eat fish, but the fish ate them instead. So you can have a happy Christmas up North. In Mexico all the children go to, a party and The children try to brake a pinata that looks like a donkey. During the holiday season they get a group and sing Christmas carols. Gay decoration were used inmidwinter festivats before Christ's birth. The decorations are colorful. One is: Say a person just walked in, if you were a reliable sport you would give he or she a bottle of bubbly or something of that sort, The rest is for New Years. (Which gets you geared!)
