died in Maitland Manor
on Thursday, December
14 after a lengthy illness
at the age of 78.
He was born in
Goderich Township on
January 27, 1900 to John
and Sarah (Snowden)
Sowerby.
He farmed in Goderich
Township until moving to
Goderich in 1951.
He married the former
Charlotte C. Dougherty.
She predeceased him on
Apri12, 1976.
He was a member of St.
George's Anglican
Church in Goderich.
He is survived by one
daughter, Mrs. Harry
(Doris) Little of
Goderich; one son,
Kenneth of Goderich
Township; one brother,
Robert of Goderich; nine
grandchildren and four
great-grandchildren.
A funeral service was
held at McCallum:
Funeral Home in
Goderich on Saturday,
December 16 at 2 p.m..
The Reverend Robert J.
Crocker officiated.
Interment was in the

Mrs. 11. Jefferson
opened the meeting on a
Christmas theme.
The hymn 0 Little town
was sung, followed by the
scripture taken from
Luke, verses 1 to 20.
Mrs. H. Jefferson gave
a prayer. The hymn, Joy
to the World; was sung
followed by a reading,
"Christmas and
Snowbound in the
Treasured Past" by Mrs.
H. Jefferson.
Each one present gave
a story of their memories
of treasured Christmases
in the past.
Away in a Manger was
sung followed by a story
of "The Two Little
Stockings by Mrs, Wm,
Hardy.
The offering was taken
up by Teresa .tefferson.
Mrs, H. Jefferson had a
business period and the
meeting was closed with
the singing of Silent Night
and a prayer. >.
Mrs. Wm. Hardy
assisted the hostess with
lunch and -a social time
was then enjoyed.
