Midget B's blast
Mt. Forest 16-1
BY DAVE SYKES
It was an up and down
week for the Goderich
Midget Bs last week as
they dropped a 7-4
decision to Listowel and
then turned around and
thumped Mount Forest
16-1, Sunday.
In a game played in
Goderich last Thursday,
Listowel held off a late
Goderich rally and
scored two goals late in
the final period to dump
the Midgets 7-4.
Listowel held a 2-0 lead
after one period of play
but Goderich fought back
and trailed 3-2 after two
periods. Listowel then
outscored Goderich 4-2 in
the final period.
Dean Bowra was the
top Goderich scorer with
two goals while team-
mates Larry Boyce and
John Huff added one goal
apiece.
But the Midgets
rebounded from the loss
and took their frustration
out on Mount Forest
scoring 16 goals to win 16-
1.
The game was close for
two periods as Goderich
held a 2-1 lead after the
first period and increased
the margin to 5-1 after the
two periods of play. They
then exploded foe 11 goals
in the final minutes.
Willie Denomme and
Jim FritzteY' led the
Goderich outburst
scoring five goals each.
Fritzley scored a single
goal in the first period
and added four in . the
final period. Denomme
scored one goal in the
second period and fired
four in the final period.
He scored three straight
goals in the' span of three
minutes inthe final
period and all were
unassisted.
Randy Graham scored
three goals for Goderich
and added four assists for

Association holds
ski meeting
About 40 members and
guests were compressed
into John Hindmarsh's
Black's Point log cabin,
when the Maitland Trail
Association held a pre -ski
meeting there recently.
The evening started
with the showing of two
films, followed by a
question period. A
discussion on proper
clothing was held and it
was determined that you
could be properly,
warmly clad without
spending a boodle on
fashionable clothing.
Four light layers of
clothing which can be
removed or added on as
necessary, are more
practical than two heavy
layers. Also, good ski
pants can be made\from
cutting down a pair of
corduroys and sewing a
band on below the knee.
Two pairs of socks should.
be worn, one light pair
and one heavy pair. A hat
is a necessity as your
head is the body's
thermostat, and you wear
a hat to keep warm, and
take it off to cool down
before you start to sweat.
A warm, lightweight
jacketshould be carried
for times when you have
to stop for any reason --
lunch, rest period, or
injury. And, of course,
you don't need to be
reminded to wear gloves.
Rod , LaFontaine, our
new Chairman, gave us a
run-down on upcoming
events as outlined in the
Newsletter. Heinz gave
us a demonstration on
how to care for our
equipment; applying tar
base, and waxing for
different temperatures.
He also suggested items
which should be carried
in pack -sack.
The evening concluded
with two more films on
skiing, knde all left, full
of enthusia m for --the
coming winter's`skiing,
