The members gathered around 1 p.m. and president, Mrs. R. Buchanan, welcomed the 30 .people present and opened the meeting with the Opening Ode and Grace with Mrs. G. Kaitting at the piano. ,A beautiful lighted Christmas tree with an MR. AND MRS. TIM McGEE Toronto home Old Toronto City Hall was the scene of a wedding ceremony on November 22 at 2:30 p.m. when Justice of the., Peace, Frank Levine, united Timothy Alexander McGee arid Marion Marjorie Bell in marriage. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. W. Bell of Goderich and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Alvin McGee, also of Goderich. The bride was dressed in a creamy sheer crepe de chine street length gown shirred at the neck, waist and sleeve ends and featuring knifepleating, for the oc- casion. She carried a spray bouquetof iris and baby's breath. She was attended by Laura Watson who wore a corsage of freezia and baby's breath. Groomsman was Kann Firatli, friend of the groom. Following the wedding ceremony, a receptio was -field at La Bastille in Toronto. The reCpton r`no4 (has centered by a wedding cake with iris and baby's breath in an iced glass on top. Fourteen guests attended the ceremony and reception, including Mrs. Reg McGee of Meneset Park, Goderich, the groom's grandmother arid Mrs. A. B. Anderson of Sutton, proxy grandmother of the bride. The bride's mother chose a street length dress of greenish print and a corsage of yellow freezia and baby's breath for the occasion. The groom's mother wore a street length dress of grey and maroon with a corsage of yellow freezia and baby's breath. Mr. and Mrs. Tim McGee are residing at 6B Grange Street in Toronto. The groom is a third year engineering student at the University of Toronto and the bride is emplqyed by Dick and Lnbrie, an ad- vertising agency inToronto. abundance of Christmas parcels around it, was evidence that Santa was coming to everyone. The tables were decorated with red poinsettias in white vases and a Christmas arrangement was on the head table. All of these decorations added to the joy of Christmas.. After the members ate a sumptuous meal, they engaged in a contest on how they knew the stores in Shopper's Square, with Mrs. Maitland Mon- tgomery winning the prize. The members responded to the roll call with a Christmas poem' or humorous reading and wishing all a very Merry Christmas. Two members who have not been present for several meetings, were especially welcomed. They were Mrs. Donna Young and Mrs. Gertrude Snyder. Regret was expressed that several members were unable to be present and cards were signed to be sent to some of the members who have not been en- joying good health. Minutes of last meeting were read by the secretary, Mrs. Allan Stoll. Several items of business were attended to. Members' signatures were received for a petition to request the government to look into the matter of holding free rabies' clinics in Huron County because of the increase in rabid animals in the county. Colborne corner Gertrude Kaitting, correspondent, Donations of clothing and knitted articles were received for the Family and ` Children Services' Christmas pardels and a motion was carried to give a donation of money to Family and Children Services and the Salvation Army Christmas work. The president then gave a report regarding the recent Ploughing Match and said that the next 4-H project will start in the first part of the new year. The Institute members catered toathe Dungannon W.I. Christmas party on Friday, December 8 in Colborne Township Hall. Members sang' two Christmas carols during the exchange of gifts after which all were very interested in viewing and examining the many beautiful Christmas arrangements on display 524-2076 by Dorothy Feagari, Mildred Montgomery and Donna Young. They will be putting many of the suggestions into practise for next Christmas. A vote of thanks was given to the ladies and Mrs. Cora Sherwood, who provided the tree and was in charge of the meeting which surely was a highlight of the year. All joined in an unanimous Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. 4-H NEWS The 9-H leaders will be going to training school the middle of January for the next project, "Accessories, the Final Touch". Mrs. Darlene Fielder. and Mrs. Brenda Thompson will be leading Tiger Dunlop Group No. 2. If there are any girls interested in taking this course who have not been taking them, contact Mrs. Thompson at 524- 41165. The girls have to be 12 - years -old by. March 1 and in this project, the members will learn how ' to co-ordinate ac- cessories to their war- drobe and •what 'ac- cessories tell others about them. The girls will also have to sew a small article in the project. Now is the time to learn all you can, so if you have the time, " make arrangements to join the 4-H. 40TH ANNIVERSARY Mr. and Mrs. Henry Brindley of Goderich, formerly of Colborne, celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary last weekend - when friends and neighbors gathered at their home for a sur- prise party on Friday evening. On Saturday afternoon, neighbors called on them and on Saturday evening, they were guests at the home of their niece, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Moss, South Street for a family get- together. Their many friends in Colborne join in wishing them many more happy years together. SOCIAL NEWS Thecommunity is pleased to report that Marvin Durnin has returned home after being a patient in Alexandra Marine and General Hospital, Goderich. -His niece, Grace Sauchuk, has been a welcome guest with Mr. and Mrs. Durnin. Mrs. Mollie Sutton of Huron Haven has returned home from a pleasant Circle Tour Holiday to Florida. The- community is pleased to report that Helen Fulford has returned to 'Maitland" Manor after being a patient in London hospital and is in im- proved health. Christmas is fast ap- proaching and I wish, at this time, to say Merry Christmas to one and all and a sincere thank you to all who, during the year, were interested enough to contact me or give me information for Colborne Corner. May the Spirit of Christmas linger in your heart bringing you joy and peace and goodwill to all. May we live Christmas every day.
