Sorry A picture and cutline that appeared in last week's newspaper was a little shy on the amount earned by the Benmiller Foresters for their work parking cars at the International Plowing Match. The Kincardine graves, like the Goderich ones, are part of the death toll from the Great Storm of 1913 that claimed over 200 sailors' lives. Leading a "one man crusade" to mark the grave sites, Mr. Pen- nington has told , Kin- cardine council that his purpose is, "to see if we can have these graves located and marked in some way." "Goderich has the only marked historical site from that storm and I would like to see something done up here," he told Kincardine councillors at a meeting on Thursday, December 7. Council then passed a motion granting $1,000 for the marking of the grave site if it is found. The search for the site will be carried out probably in the north west corner of the cemetery, the same location the Sea Scouts of Kincardine made a search. + ++ Three years of public support for Ontario's lotteries has produced more than $250 million for culture and recreational projects and health- related research, ac- cording to the Ontario Lottery Corporation's third annual report which was tabled in the legislature recently. The Corporation's fiscal year 1977-78 yielded profits of $100 million on combined Wintario and Provincial sales of $240.4 million. Thirty-four new millionaires and 134 winners of $100,000 in 1977-78 joined the more than 2.5 million ticket holders who have so far claimed prizes in the two lotteries. A gallup poll has shown that 85 percent of Ontario households play the Wintario lottery and 66 percent play the Provincial lottery. According to the annual report, better than one person in four in Ontario has come up a winner in either the Provincial or Wintario. + + + And speaking of lot- teries, there are three $1,000 winners to an- nounce this week in the Goderieh . and District Community Grandstand Turn to page 12 • iuncoc»t mall SRflS Washed flarres, wide legs & straight legs * .
