Nicole is November winner
There were nine new
members of the Captain
Comet Birthday Club in
November and the
winner of the contest for
the month was Nicole
Machan.
Congratulations, Nicole.
Any day this week,
Nicole or her parents can
pick up Nicole's prize at
the Signal -Star office
during regular working
hours.
It was just one year ago
this month that Captain
Comet first rode into
Goderich on top of the
Signal -Star truck. You
may remember seeing
him in the Santa parade
in 1977.
Since that time, Cap-
tain Comet has had a
regular column in the
Signal -Star and reports
that his most successful
effort so far has been his
Birthday Club.
The rules are simple.
Just send along a letter

Captain Comet likes to

something with you or

If you have a picture of
yourself - a school picture
is just about the right size
- send it along with the -
letter.. Captain Comet
likes to get pictures. It
helps him get to know all
the kids in Goderich.
When the Captain
receives your letter, he
writes your name and
your birthday in his big
book beside a number. At
the end of the month, all
the numbers for that
month are put in a hat
and one lucky number is
drawn out by one of
Captain Comet's helpers.
The child whose name is
beside that lucky number
wins the prize.
