Live at Port Albert home
Potted bronze mums decorated Knox Presbyterian
Church chapel in Goderich on November 3 at 7:30 p.m.
for the wedding ceremony uniting Karen Elizabeth
Taylor of Port Albert and James William Fooks also of
Port Albert.
MR. AND. MRS. JAMES WILLIAM FOOKS
The bribe is the daughter of Mr.. and Mrs. Clarence
Taylor off RR 4 Goderich and the groom is the son of
Mr. and Mrs. Dan Fooks of Stratford.
The Reverend G.L. Royal officiated at the double

The bride was given in marriage by her parents. She
wore a Victorian styled ivory colored sheer over satin
lace gown. Lace was featured on the bodice of the
gown and lace inserts were featured on the sheer
sleeves. The train off the gown was also trimmed in
lace.
The bride carried a nosegay of silk apricot tea roses,
orange azaleas, and yellow forget-me-nots bordered
with brown fern and brown velvet ribbon.
Maid off honor was Miss Nancy Fisher of St.
Thomas, friend off the bride. She wore a silvery beige
floral printed gown off polyester satin styled similarly
to the bride's gown. She also wore a headpiece of
flowers and carried a nosegay of silk pink daisies and
lily of the valley.
Groomsman was John Sinclair of Amberley,
brother-in-law of the bride.
The groom and his attendant wore brown tuxedos
with beige shirts and white carnation boutonnieres.
Following the wedding ceremony, a reception was
held at Saltford Valley Hall which was decorated with
a wedding cake, bronze candles and potted bronze
mums for the occasion.
The bride's mother greeted guests wearing a gold
floral long gown featuring a cowl neckline and long
fitted sleeves. She wore a corsage of yellow silk roses.
The groom's mother wore a printed beige peasant
styled long gown with bishop sleeves and a corsage of
orange silk roses.
Mr. and Mrs. James William Fooks are residing at

Good.
Guests were present at the wedding and reception
from North Bay, Haliburton, Youngs Point, Hamilton,
London, Toronto, Kitchener, Stratford and area,

quote of the late Dag
Hammarskjold:
"We know, that the
question of peace and the
question of human rights
are closely related.
Without recognition of
human rights we shall
never have peace. It is
only within the
framework of peace that
human rights can be fully
developed."

How am I involved? I
am involved in working
on the case of Mohamed
Znagui. The petition that
was signed by a number
at the meeting will be
hand -delivered by the
Vice -President of the
Canada Section of
Amnesty International to
the Moroccan Embassy
in the near future. A copy
of the petitions will go to
Don Jamieson, our own
External Affairs
Minister, who already
has raised the case with
our Ambassador in
Morocco and has `asked
the Embassy there to
bring the matter up with
Moroccan officials.
What can I do? All of
this information about
Amnesty International
could remain quite
distant from us unless I
can somehow make it
relevant to you, make
your involvement seem
possible.
To begin with may I
emphasize how relevant
this issue is ' to our
communities. Human
rights are always
relevant and should
never be taken for
granted. Any violation of
our human rights should
bestrenuously objected
to --in our system as well
as elsewhere. Wherever
human rights are being
denied. For many living
in situations where their
voices are the ones they
use. They depend on us.
So what can we do. You
can join Amnesty
International, receive its.
monthly bulletin, and
participate in . the world-
wide letter campaign on
behalf of 1-3 Prisoner's of
Conscience and three
victims of ,torture; you
can support the work of
A.I. donations, either to a
group such as the one I
represent, or to Amnesty
International. Canada
(the money goes to
support research,. relief
to families, etc.) ; you can
sign a petition for
Mohamed Znagui; you
can form an A.I. group in
your community; you can
invite a speaker from A.I.
to your group --provide
forums for A.I. to tell its
story; you can question
"unfeeling" comments -
help raise awareness and
read "between the lines"
of news reports; you can
question Canadian aid to
countries with gross
violations of human
rights; you can question a
number of things about
systems that oppress --
"There is nothing more
foreign to the event of
Jesus Christ than the
maintainance of the
Status Quo."; you can
organize a study group on
Human Rights. You can
speak to teachers in your
high schools about in-
corporating Human
Rights studies in
curricula; and you can
make sure that children
in your church school get
exposure to the human
rights themes--

All of our disgust and
dismay can really be
turned into a creative

this world if we join our
voices with those who

we in the struggle for a
fuller human life.

Members of ALPHA
Huron have been taking a
survey of handicapped
persons who must rely on

Wingham have 50 and 36
persons in south and
north Huron respectively,
who have this need.
Added to this are 25 to 30

includes only the people
who are registered with
