Bs racked up two easy
wins last week in WOAA
.midget league play.
The midgets humiliated
Wingham 14-1 in Wingham
December 4 and then
Ryan leads Wholly
Bowlers to top spot
The powerhouse Wholly
Bowlers, led by Terry
Ryan, are leading the
race in the Youth Bowling
Council Junior and Senior
team standings. Even
with the big expanse
between first and second
place, and second place
and third place, the
competition is still in-
tense.
For the first time this
year, someone has had a
handicap of zero. That
means his handicap is
well over 200, Yes, you
guessed it, Terry Ryan,
He led Saturday morning
bowling high triple with
657. Even though he
bowled very well, Ray
Stanton had the high
single with 285.
Shelly Culbert led the
Senior Girls with both
high single (206) and high
triple (471). _
The Junior Girls were
led by Doreta Jackson's
high single of 255. Kim
Varty had the high triple
of 545.
The Junior Boys were
led by Jim Keller who
had both high single of 213
and high triple of 506.
The "Bowler of the
Month" badge, a
distinguished award in
the YBC, was won by:
Doreta Jackson; Seniors,
Shelly Culbert and for
November; Junior's, Kim
Varty and Seniors, Terry
Ryan. This award is
given for a bowler's at-
tendance record, his or
her average, high single,
high triple, etc.
Six lead Forester bowling
First place Unlucky Six
have 39 points after
gaining five with the help
of Betty Miller's 272 and
Eric Miller's 606 triple.
Merry Strikers, tied for
eighth with 22, took two
points with Wayne Swan
rolling a 217 and 560
triple.
Hopeless, in second
place 'with 37, took four
points with Darlene
Fielder rolling a 228
single and 612 triple.
Bloopers, tied for fifth
with 26 points, took three
thanks to Bill Bogie's 284
and 643 triple.
Third place Hopefulls,
with 32, were shutout
despite George Robin-
son's 225 and 585 triple.
Fourth place JJ's now
have a total of 29 points
with high games rolled by
Leone Thom. a 235 sinele
and 619 triple.
Ted Johnston rolled a
248 single and 666 triple to
take three points for Try
Herds, tied for fifth place
with 26 points. Grant
Curran's 271 single and
601 triple helped sixth
place Blowouts grab four
points for a total of 24.
Sunday Headpins, in
seventh place with 23
points took five with Doug
Fuller hitting a 261 and
657 triple. Jack's Jokers,
tied for eighth with 22
points had high games by
Jack Gilbert, a 261 and 666
triple.
Bridgeclub scores
There were 10 tables in
play when the Goderich
Duplicate Bridge Club
met at the Legion Hall on
Tuesday evening.
Mary Lapaine and
Donna Sproul topped the
North-South division with
83 points. Second place
was a tie between Mary
Donnelly and Marian
Lane and Jo Shrier and
John Wood with 71 points.
Auleen Curry and John
'Donatis topped the East-
West division with 79
paints. Second place went
to Pat Stringer and Ron
Menzies with 74 points
and third place went to
Bill Cochrane and Ted
Plante with 721/2 points.

In Level 3, Doug
Brindley had five wins in
five games to move into
second place. Peter
Nelson moved out of the
honorary division and
into the last third Level
spot. Peter also had a
busy evening coming up
with four wins and a
draw. In •fact, it was a
busy night for the whole
chess club last week with
30 games being played:

started to develop in
Level 4 for third place as
Owen Moriarty won his
fifth game of the season
to move within .002 of
Mike Cox.
Judy Brindley came up
with her first two wins
since joining the Club.
