the dinner meeting held
at 'Sullivan's Restaurant
for St. Joseph's C.W.L.,
Kingsbridge.
Minutes of the
November meeting were
read and approved. Mary
Clare presented the
treasurer's report.
Karla Hogan read
thankyou letters from the
following for donations
and gifts: Madonna
House, Ryan family,
Lorraine Brophy, Father
Dentinger, "Save -a -
family" in India, Senior
Addolorota and Father
Ralph O'Loughlin.
Also read were letters
from National Right to
Life, The Church To -day
T.V. program, interlink
radio show and the
Lucknow Sentinel. The
latter is to be discussed
further at the January
meeting.

ELLA MAE CASTLE
A Goderich Township
native, Ella Mae Castle of
Bayfield, passed away in
Clinton Public Hospital
on December 10, 1978. She
was 80 years old.
Mrs. Castle was born in
Goderich Township on
June 27, 1898, a daughter
of the late William Hicks
and Elizabeth Ginn. She
attended SS 1 Goderich
Township School, and
Goderich Collegiate.
She married George
Castle at the North Street
manse ''in Goderich on
September 28, 1925. He
predeceaseher.
., .Allowing their.
-marriage, the couple
lived at Goderich,
Strathroy, and Bayfield.
An ardent gardener,
who had over 60 different
rose bushes, Mrs. Castle
was a member of St.
Andrews United Church
in Bayfield.
She is survived by one
son, Wilfred George
Castle of Clinton; two
daughters, Beryl Ann
(Mrs. Robert Heath) of.
Dawson Creek, B.C. and
Aileen Winnifred (Mrs.
William Craig) of Clin-
ton; 12 grandchildren;
two great-grandchildren;
one sister, Mildred (Mrs.
Henry E. Watkins) of
Clinton; , and two
brothers, Howard Hicks
of. Clinton, and Maurice
Hicks of Goderich.
The funeral service
was held from the Ball
Funeral Home on
December 13, 1978, with
Rev. John Oestreicher
Officiating, assisted by
Rev. James Reddock.
Interment was in the
Bayfield Cemetery.
Pallbearers were
Bruce Craig of Winnipeg,
Brenton Craig of London,
;James Craig and Paul
Castle of Clinton, all
gra}dsons, and William
McGregor of RR 5,
Clinton and Donald Haw
of Bayfield.
Flowerbearers were
Laureen Craig of Clinton,
Timothy Craig of Clinton
and Nancy Castle,. all
' grandchildren.

A Sunday afternoon
concert arranged by Dr.
Toll, leader of the
Seaforth-Dashwood band,
opened with 0 Canada,
followed by several
stirring band marches.
Lorne Lawson played a
harmonica solo followed
by a vocal duet by
Drysdale sisters. A solo
was given by Jack
Storey, followed by step
dancing by Debbie Flynn,
the Finlayson sisters, and
Lila Storeys cross
country squares. Music
for the dancers was
supplied by Marie Flynn
and Nelson Howe.
Vic Fox sang a solo and
led the audience in carol
singing with Mrs. Hen-
derson on piano. Dr. Toll
and band closed program
with several Carol
selections followed by a
social time.

The monthly mass for
the sick will be offered.
Grace Austin reported
31 more boxes packed
and sent to .. Madonna
House, Combermere.
Grace and Cathy Olsen
reported on the marriage
renewal seminar they
attended in London. They
asked for, volunteers to
meet and have
discussions. The object off
the program in the
London diocese is to get
married couples of all
ages sharing ideas that
might help strengthen
marriages and family
life. In Huron County
alone, last year there
were a thousand divor-
ces.
PRO LIFE
Teresa Courtney is still
accepting memberships
for Pro Life. The Pro Life
float won a second prize'
in the Goderich Santa
Claus parade.
Irene Gilmore sent get
well cards to John
Crawford, Ron Austin
and Wilfred Hogan.
Irene and Rita Howard
have purchased the gifts
for the sick and shut-ins.
Bernadine Kinney and
Mary Clare will help
deliver the gifts.
GIRL GUIDES •
Rochelle Champagne
thanked Father for let-
ting the Girl Guides sell
refreshments at the
Christmas turkey bingo
and also for the returns
from one bingo game.
The Guides made
greeting card holders for
the shut-ins.

The Benmiller Foresters got a vote of thanks for
their efforts helping park cars at the International
Plowing Match held in Wingham in September. The
Foresters took on the task of managing parking
areas at the International and received a little over
$1,400 from the IPM for their efforts. Hugh Flynn,
chairman of the parking committee, told the
Foresters the committee had appreciated the
extra work the club did over and above what they
were asked to do and wanted to donate $25 to the

Everyone was all smiles at a Benmiller Foresters Club dance Saturday
