She has come to the conclusion that she likes, to make "fiddly" things which require some creativity and while she likes to bake, she doesn't especially like cooking. She says she is a perfectionist and if she makes something she is riot satisfied with, she will make it over again if she has the time. Mrs. Woodall just needs a day's notice for cake orders unless something special needs to be ordered and then she likes at least a week's notice. Ittakes her only,; an hour and a half to decorate a Cookie " Monster and two hours to decorate.a Holly Hobby. Besides decorating cakes, Mrs. Woodall likes to sew, do crewel em- broidery, do macrame and draw. She studied fashion design at Humber College, Toronto. She moved to Goderich three and a half years ago from Mississauga with her husband, Bob, daughter Melanie and son Jason. Her husband has his own plumbing business and he is sup- portive- of his wife's hobby. He even makes cake bases of plywood for her. The children now six and four, get really ex- cited by some of her creations, especially when they get to eat them. For a while, says Mrs. Woodall, she was "ahead" in her hobby - business, but now she spends so much money on new molds, books, etc., that she doesn't think she is "ahead" anymore. " Sometimes she gets swamped with orders and • she also has her ups and downs. One time, for instance, she was delivering a cake, hit a bump with her car and it broke. But all this doesn't matter. She really enjoys what she's doing and that's what counts. After all you can't al -ways have your cake and eat it too ! ? Judy Woodall of Goderich, a wife and mother of two, has been decorating cakes as a hobby since last Christmas and has received many orders from friends since. She made her first wedding cake in the fall and has made many more for Father's Day, birthdays and anniversaries. Her first cake mold was one of Mickey Mouse. She used it to make a birthday cake for her nephew and showed it to some friends at a Sorority meeting. Next thing she knew, she had orders for three more. Mrs. Woodall has been baking and decorating cakes since last Christmas. She was first inspired by an aunt who was a cake decorator. She thought she might like to give it a try herself and through word .of mouth, she soon began receiving, orders from others for cakes.
