The Goderich Legion honored several past presidents at the
annual dance and banquet held last Saturday. Some of the past
presidents in attendance included; Neil Shaw, Eric Johnstone,
Harold Chambers, Bob Chapman, Ralph Kingswell and Ed
Cancer

The Huron County Unit
of the Canadian Cancer
Society held its fall
meeting on Monday,
November 20 at the
Wesley -Willis Church 'in
Clinton.
There were 22 mem-
bers and friends in at-
tendance representing
Seaforth, Exeter,
Goderich and the Clinton
branch. The Wingham
branch had no one
present.
President Helen Davies
chaired the evening
which opened with two
vocal solos given by Wyn
Homuth accompanied by
Mrs. Radford on the
piano.
The upcoming cam-
paign conference to be
held in Toronto in
January was discussed
and each branch is to
send a delegate.
Each branch wishing to
participate in a Daffodil
Day to start the 1979
campaign in April is
asked to have their
representatives in to the
campaign chairman by
the end of November.
Reports were given as
follows: education, Mrs.
Freda Slade; service to
patients, Mrs. Shirley
Mills; publicity, Hpward
Aitken; campaigns, Ross
McDaniel.
John McKibbon at-
tended the education
conference in Toronto in
October and gave a
report on it.
Workshops were for-
med for specialized
discussions and each
group reported back to
the meeting as a whole,
Following ad-
journment, coffee and
doughnuts were enjoyed.
The next meeting will be
held sometime in
February.

The Goderich Legion, Branch 109 held its annual
Past Presidents Ball Saturday evening and many
past ladies auxiliary presidents were in attendance.
They include: Margaret Young, Rose Hill, Mona
Davis, Fern Moore, Jean Elliott and Evelyn

Christmas concert December 6
Blyth Centre plans busy winter
The Blyth Centre for
the Arts will continue to
carry out its policy of
providing local and
touring performances for
Huron County residents
during the winter months
by presenting an evening
of Christmas music next
week.
Performed by area
residents, the Com-
munity Christmas
Concert will be held in the
Blyth Memorial Hall at 8
p.m. Wednesday,
December 6. The emcee
for the evening will be
well-known Blyth
resident Jim Lawrie.
Two area choirs will be
featured on theprogram.
The Goderich Concert
Choir will be giving its
second performance on
the Blyth stage. Now
about to enter its third
year as a recognized
choral group, the choir
will offer the audience a
variety of selections,
including . traditional
carols.
Another relatively new
choir in the area is the F.
E. Madill Choir from
Wingham. At this concert
the senior students of the
high school choir will
present a medley of

Christmas songs under
the direction of Mrs. M.
Douglas.
Mr. J. Herdman is the
director of the Goderich
choir.
The Christmas theme
*ill be carried through in
the solos of Mrs. Wittich
of Blyth, who will also
lead the audience in a
carol sing -a -long.
To complement the
musical program, a
selection of Christmas
readings will be given by
the Reverend John
Roberts of Belgrave.
Tickets for this evening
of family entertainment
will be available at the
door at $2.50 for adults
and $1 for children. A
reception will be held in
the basement of the hall
following the concert.
