Her niece, Mrs.. Tom Cunningham, welcomed all and Miss Margaret R. Jackson read a poem, On Your Birthday and said Grace. Other nieces attending were Mrs. Lloyd McClinchey and Mrs. Carmen Gross. Other guests were Mrs. Bell Allen, Mrs. Lillian Letherland, Mrs. Roy Daer, Mrs. Thomas Haggitt, Mrs. Donald Haines, Mrs. Kenneth McDougall, Mrs. Lawrence Plaetzer; Mrs. Tom Jardin, Mrs. Elva Straughan, Mrs. Arnold Craig, Mrs. Beth Lan- sing, Mrs. Major Youngblut, Miss Ella Wagner, Mrs. Myrtle Munro Mrs. Frances Clark, Mrs. Dorothy Grange, Mrs. Elma McFarlane, Mrs. Gordon McClinchey, Mrs. Oliver Anderson, Miss Minnie Wagner, Mrs.- Catherine - Jackson, Miss Laura Wagner, Mrs. John Daer, Mrs. Fred Lawrence and Mrs. Eleanor Bradnock. Happy Birthday was sung and Mrs. Garrison thanked all for the lovely dinner and corsage. Mrs. Garrison was the former Bess Cunningham and lived her early life on the 13th concession of Hullett. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Haines returned on Monday after visiting in Niagara Falls with their son, Mr. Edward Haines and Mrs. Haines and with her sister, Mrs. Harold Davis and Mr. Davis at Bomansville, N.X. Mr. and Mrs. William Andrews, Michael and Todd entertained recently, in honour of her father, Raymond Leddy's 80th birthday. Mrs. Donald Cart- wright attended a Synod meeting for the Diocese of Huron as a delegate from St. Mark's Anglican Church last Saturday held at Althouse College, London. Miss Trudy Machan, a student at Fanshawe College, London spent the weekend at her home with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Keith Machan and sister Miss Tracey Machan. The community is pleased to report that Mrs. ' James Towe was able to come home on the weekend after several weeks as a patient In Clinton Public Hospital. Congratulations to, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Scott (nee Marie Ferguson) who were married last Saturday in Goderich. Several from here were guests at the wedding and the reception held at the White Carnation. Mrs. John Hallam is a patient in Clinton Public Hospital. She is wished a quick recovery. Miss Monica Hebert underwent surgery on her finger last Saturday in University Hospital, London following an accident in the hall when it was stepped on. Little Miss Leslie Lawrence was taken to University Hospital last Friday night where she received stitches above her eye following an accident at her home. She is wished a speedy recovery. • CHILDREN'S WORKSHOP Twenty-four children between 8 and 13 years of age attended the Children's Workshop last Thursday evening in the Community Memorial hall. The oldeI group, 11 to 13 years of age, with their instructors Ross Robinson and Jim Schneider, started on the Nativity scene. The younger group continued to work on the lawn or- naments which will be for sale to help support the projects. In order to finance these projects, the children are going on a pop bottle drive on Saturday, November 25 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. If anyone wishes to . help from the country, please leave their_,bottles at the home of Sandy Andrews or Jim Schneider. Vickie Rodger was in charge. Lisa Rodger read the. minutes and .Mr -s. Hildebrand checked several note -books. It was decided that Vickie Rodger and Shelley Powell would be commentators for the exhibit at Achievement Day. A meeting is called for December 4 towork on the exhibit. Meals and meal planning were discussed and the girls made up a commercial on nutrition. Vickie closed the meeting with the 4-H motto. LIONS MEETING Lion President Bud Chamney presided for the meeting held last Wed- nesday evening in the Auburn Community Memorial Hall.
