MR. AND MRS. RANDAL BLAIR
Wed in London
Two candelabras and two baskets of yellow and
white glads and mums decorated Royal View Church
in London on September 23 at 5:30 p.m. for the wed-
ding ceremony of Brenda Glazier of Goderich and
Randal Blair of Brantford.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ronald R.
Glazier of Goderich and the groom is the son of Mr.
and Mrs. Clayton Blair of Brantford.
The Reverend P.G. St. Don of London officiated at
the double ring ceremony. Music was provided by
organist, Mrs. John Gower and soloist, Larry Hut-
chins.
The bride was given in marriage by her parents. She
Wore a gown of silk organza with a high neckline and
yoke of chantilly lace and seed pearls. The sleeves of
the dress yere tapered with lace trim. The skirt had a
pleated panel from the waist to the hemline which
formed a full chapel train with lace edging. A mat-
ching head piece was worn with a silk illusion finger
tip veil.
Thebride carried a bouquet of coral roses and white
baby's breath.
Maid of honor was Miss Joan Schoenhals of
Goderich. She wore a full-length peach colored gown
of satin overlaid with peach linen cloth. She also
wore a wide -brimmed hat and carried a white Bible
with peach baby carnations, white daisies and baby's
breath:
Bridesmaids were Miss Mary Ellen Glazier and
Miss Rhonda Glazier both of Goderich, sisters of the
bride. They were gowned the same as the maid of
honor and carried the same Bibles with flowers. They
wore silk peach flowers in their hair.
Flower girl was Miss Marianne Glazier of Saltford,
niece of the bride. She wore a gown of white batiste
trimmed with peach embroidery and• featuring long
sleeves and a stand-up neckline. She carried a white
basket with white daisies with yellow centres and
baby's breath.
Groomsman was Mr. David Shelley of Goderich.
Guests were ushered into the church by Mr. Mark,
Collins of Brantford, brother-in-law of the groom and
Mr. John Glazier of Saltford, brother of the bride.
Following the wedding ceremony, a reception was
held at Grovenor Gates( Dining Club in London. The
tables at the Club were adorned with single bud roses
and bell-shaped favours for the occasion.
The bride's mother greeted guests wearing a full
length pink gown with matching short cape and a
corsage of pink trimmed white roses.
The groom's mother assisted wearing a full length
turquoise gown with turquoise sheer overlay and a
pink rose corsage.
For a wedding trip to Treasure Island and Orlando,
Florida, the bride changed to a two-piece skirt set in
off-white linen with acorsage of rust colored roses and
mums and beige and brown sandals.
Mr. and Mrs. Blair are residing in London.
Prior to the wedding, the bride was feted at several
showers. Mrs. J. Lang of Kitchener, aunt of the groom
hosted a _ shower. Mary Ellen Glazier, sister of the
bride, hosted a shower in Goderich. Joan Schoenhals
also hosted a shower in Goderich. Brantford
Evangelical Church congregation hosted a shower.
Bethel Pentecostal Church hosted a shower at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Susz. A shower "was held
after the wedding at Royal View Church. And the
nurses on 2SW at St. Joseph's Hospital in London
hosted a shower.

Holmesville student council electe

School News
Children of the
Holmesville School who
ride buses have been
asked to remember
school bus safety and use
it.
On Friday, November
10, Remembrance Day
was held in the gym-
nasium. As part of the
service, the pupils wore
poppies presented to
them by the Clinton
Branch of the Royal
Canadian Legion and the
children brought their
contributions to the
school for the poppies.
The money raised helps
the Legion to carry out
many important duties.
On Wednesday,
November i an election
for student council
representatives was held.
The election results were
as follows: President,
Doug • Moffet; vice
president, .Kent Feagan;
secretary, Heather
Lindsay; treasurer, Barb
Forbes. Congratulations
to these people and good
luck to them in their
offices this year.
On Friday, November
24 our school will
welcome Mr. Ted
Harrison, author of the
book "Children of the
Yukon". Please watch for
further details on this
event coming soon.
Gregory Studios will be
taking pictures Wed-
nesday, November 22 and
on Thursday, :November
,
23 for, the alternate
Kindergarden class. A
package will be sent
home with each child,
telling parents the price
of photographs. This year
there are four different
choices of the photo
packages. The money in
the payment envelope is
to be brought to the
school on the clay the
pictures are taken and
given to the teacher.
Anyone not bringing
money will not get pic-
tures. Money should not
be brought to school
before November 22.
The school will con-
tinue with hints produced
by Catherine Thomson,
Community Nutritionist
for the Huron County
Health Unit on ways to
win over weight, safety
and successfully. Help
from family and friends
and out growing fatness
are two ways of doing
this.
UCW Bazaar
On Wednesday,
November 8, the UCW of
the Holmesville Church
held their annual bazaar,
the weatherman. sure co-
operated, in the White
Carnation in Holmesville,
A good attendance buying
different articles.
When entering, people
were welcomed by ladies
of the UCW. A table was
set up with many plants,
vegetables, eggs etc. for
sale and selling quickly.
At the bake table at times
it was hard to get close
enough to see the wares,
but not long in selling out.
Their Christmas table
was made up of candy,
candles etc..and were not
long in selling out; then
there was a large table of
crafts, mitts, scarves,
hats and aprons. In the
I.O:D.E. meet
The regular monthly
meeting of Ahmeek
Chapter, I.O.D.E. was
held at the home of Mrs.
Gordon Henderson on
South Street on Monday,
November 6.
The usual opening
exercises were held with
the Regent, Mrs. R.
Neville, presiding. The
secretary's report was
read and accepted.
The signs for the en-
trance to the town were
then discussed and it was
decided to proceed with
them.
The usual Provincial
and National donatft)ns
were discussed and
approved as were the
usual Christmas gifts for
the patients in the local
hospital.
The December meeting
will be in the .form of a
noon luncheon.
There was also a
discussion regarding the
I.O.D.E. history,
scrapbook, etc, and
where to place them for
safekeeping.
The treasurer's report
was given and approved
as read.
A sample of the prizes
which the chapter
presented at • the
Vanastra swimming
'meet for retarded
children was shown to the
members and a report of
the presentations was
given. It. was a most
rewarding experience. °
The meeting closed
with the usual, "God Save
the Queen and Canada".
A ,delicious lunch was
served by the hostess and
her assistants.
tea room at times people
had to stand in line for a
seat. For $1.25 -
sandwiches, relish tray
and choice of pie was
offered. In the kitchen,
ladies were busy,.making
up plates of sandwiches
and then had to do the
never ending job of doing
the dishes, and tidying up
at the end of another
successful bazaar.
Personals
On November 4, Brad
Duff received his first
place trophy for all
Ontario at the Ontario
Karting Racing
Association banquet in
Kitchener. Also he
received a plaque for
getting iour or more
medallions for the year.
Don Duff father of Brad
also brought home a
large trophy to •his sur-
prise having been picked
the Sportsman of the year
for all Ontario. This
trophy is a real honour to
have, also Don was
nominated to be on the
Board of Directors for
Ontario Karting Racing
Association which he will
