here last Tuesday, .losing
30-27 to ListoweL
The Vikings led 16-12 at
half time andeheld a 24-14
lead after three quarters
but collapsed in the final
quarter.
Listowel came on
strong causing the
Vikings to lose their
concentration_ Their
offence fell apart and
their usually successful
press did not work.
Viking coach Donna
Doidge labelled the
fourth quarter as a very
depressing quarter for
us -
The loss dropped the
Vikings to second place,
,.with a record of eight
wins and one loss.
Listowel remains the only
undefeated team in the
league, and now boasts a

points led Listowel of-
fensively and controlled
the boards at both ends of
the court_
Lucie Turcotte had 12
points for the Vikings.
Karen Melady and Heidi

each for the losers_

Saturday they split a pair
of games, beating
Malvern Collegiate 49-9
and losing -to the number
one ranked Toronto
senior girls' team,
Overlea Collegiate, 40-30_

Suns extend record
Over the weekend the
""Suns" extended their
record to three wins and
one loss by beating
Walkerton 6-2 on
Saturday and losing 5-3 to
Hanover on Sunday_
In Saturday's game the
Suns controlled the play
throughout the game.

third some strong
forechecking paid off and
Scott Garrow got a quick
break_ Walkerton came

Jewell put the game on
ice when he found the
open net in the last
minute of play, and then,
after Walkerton had
retslaeed then -==game
Davey alertly picked up
the puck in the Walkerton
Zone and beat the goalie
cleanly with a high shot_
Sunday's game with
Hanover started much
lite the Saturday game
had ended In the first
minute of play Davey
Jewell netted two quick
goals, the first from
behindthe net and the•
second on a hard shot
from near the blueline
that beat the Hanover

McPherson added to the
Goderich lead on a very
fine passing play from

From that point on the

Debbie placed fourth in
her flight in her Free
Style event, then moved
into third place after
completing figures_
She is the pupil of Mr.
Rick Pettit, professional
coach with the Goderich
Figure Skating Club.
Four other pupils of
Mr. Pettit also com-
peted at Stoney Creek_
Anne Allan placed sixth
in Interpretive Free Style
on Friday. On Saturday,
she placed ninth in a Free
Style event_ She is the
daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Bob Allan`of Goderich.
