Last Sunday evening -

the St. Paul's Cathedral,
• London.
Abraham 'Guenther
was a •strong and con-
vincing Thames Becket,
Pour knights, three
priests, a messenger and
•
•
a servant the chorus, of
ten women and a choir,
made ,up tbe cast. -
Directed by Brian
Longstaff, with lighting
design by Russel Dufton,
it was a treat to have
lighting and voices on cue
e comes to Blyth every time. No hesitation
or forgetting lines was
apparent.
The Blyih, Centre for
the Arts is bringing
Caspari and Company
Mime Dance Theatre to
Western Ontario on
Wednesday, November 1
at 8 p.m.
Mime is the universal
language and has the
ability to communicate
and entertain alt age
groups. Caspari and
Company were just
recently well received at
the Toronto Zoo where
they entertained both
children and adults for
hours
Caspari and Company Mime Dance Theatre will
appear in Blyth Memorial Heil on Wednesday;
November 1. Here one of the mime artists goes
through themotions.
Caspari, founder
and artistic director of
Caspari and, Company
Mime Dance Theatre,
was initially schooled in
the French mime
tradition. From this base
she went on to broaden
her skills by further study
in related fields such as
acting, ballet, acrobatics
and modern dance.
Starting with solo
performances in 1973, her
work expanded to include
presentations, with other
artists including
musicians dancers and
poets. Through her
company which she
formed in 1977, she is
dedicated to presenting
material that, while
based in the French
mime tradition, is in-
fluenced by these ex-
plorations.
Ms. Caspari has per-
formed in various areas
of Canada and the---U:S;--1
including 'OttaWa's
National Arts Centre. She
has performed and'
choreographed for
numerous television
programs, gamong them
T.V. Ontario's "Tell Me A
Story" and,dBC's "Music
to See':. Her work has
been 'recognized by the
Ontario Arts Council
from whom she has
received choreography
awards, Creative Artists
in the Schools grants and
playwright's grants.
Bibi Caspari and
Company's performance
-to be seen in Blyth on
November 1 will include
on the program, The
Hunter, The Conductor,
Follow the Line, Caspari
The Boxer and much
more. All tickets are
available through, the
Blyth Centre for the Arts,
Box 291, Blyth or by
calling 5P-9300.
With the beautiful
setting and simple
costumes, the play was
one to remember.
Of special interest to
Goderich was the per-
formance of Garwood
Russell who played the
part of third priest very
well.
The spontaneity,
sharpness of the lines and
action, made one forget
the hard Cathedral
sating and for this'.
-reason also the play,
seemed to'go tviftty.
Messrs. Guenther,
Robert La Chance,
Stephen Ouimette and
Jim Schaefer were ap-
pearing through the
Courtesy of the Canadian,
Actors' Equity
Association.
After the play, the
carload consisting dif
June Hill, Maury and
Kathie Jenkins, Ruth
Leonard and Martha
Rathburn from Goderich,
were invited to thehome
of Canon and • Mrs.
Garwood Russell - much
to the surprise of Mr.
Russell. The Russells are
very happy in their lovely
home and sent back good
wishes to their many
friends in Goderich.
