BY T.D.
The GDCI Vikings
racked up their fourth
consecutive Huron -Perth
Conference vitt victqly in
junior footballere
„last Thursday with a 55-13
thrashing of the Central
Huron Redmen.
The victory leaves the
Vikings with an un-
defeated record of 4-0,
matched by their next
opponents, the Stratford
Northwestern Huskies
who play here today
(Thursday) in a game
that will probably decide
first place in the Con-
ference standings. In
those four league games,
the Vikings have
produced an awesome
total of 192 points while
giving up a meagre 32.
Against Clinton, the
Vikings offente totalled
387 yards. Brian "Buck-
wheat" Shewfelt was the
workhorse of the Viking
offence, although 'at 120
pounds, the Viking
tailback might better be
categorized as a "pony"
rather than a "horse".
Shewfelt scored 16 points

two two-point con-
mions„areashed _for
• Yards, cabght pastes and
generally kept the Viking
offence rolling.
Shewfelt's first touch-
down came" on a:65 -yard
punt return in the first
quarter. The other was on
a third quarter 10 -yard
off -tackle play.
Quick Ken Reid also
scored two Viking majors
on fullback dive plays of
six and 20 yards.
Other Viking touch-
downs were scored by
Larry Madge on a fNe-
yard dive, quarterback
Steve Gallow, Itin a 25 -
yard sweep and Steve
Frayne on a 90 -yard punt
return in the fourth
quarter. Madge and
Frayne also had two-
point conversions to their
Credit.
Larry Boyce kicked a '

downs were scored • by
Jim McClure on a two -
yard dive play in the

in the dying minutes of
the fourth quarter.

ran .45 plays from
scrimmage and had an
average. gain per play of
8.6 yards against Clinton.
In their four league
games, the Viking
rushing leader is tail-
back Mice Wedlock with
a total of 379 yards.
Wedlock ran for S2 yards
here Thursday before
being sidelined in the
second quarter with a
recurring Itacie injury.
Larry Madge has picked
up a total of 301 yards

quarterback Gallow has
