White candelabra standards with hanging baskets of
rust mums, green zinnias and salmon glads on either
r 'side of the altar decorated Knox Presbyterian Church
chapel, Goderich for the wedding ceremony of Bar-
bara G. Britnell and James G. Chisholm on September -
23 at 7:30p.m.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.W.
Britnell of Goderich and the groom is the son of Mrs.
Mark Chisholm of Benmiller and the late Mr. Mark
Chisholm.
The Reverend G.L. Royal officiated at the ceremony
and music was provided by organist.Lorne Dotterer.
The bride was given in marriage by her father. She
wore a gown of peau-de-soie featuring a sweetheart
neckline, sheath sleeves trimmed with applique and a
cathedral length Swiss guipure train with applique
and lace cutwark. She wore a matching Juliet cap
which held her finger tip silk illusion veil trimmed
with lace. She carried a tapered gyal bouquet of white
stephanotis, carnations, roses, baby's breath and
trailing ivy.
Maid of honor was Miss Joanne-Britnell of London,
sister of the bride. She wore an apricot colored gown of
French interlock featuring a tiered flounced skirt
trimmed with ivory chantilly lace, scoop neckline
baby doll sleeves and a flounced stole also trim ..ed
with ivory chantilly lace. ' She carrie4 a bouqt 't of
similar shape to the bride's bouquet featuring . •tst
daisy mums with touches of white roses and Cc '-
nations.
Bridesmaid was Miss Cathy Britnell of Goderich,
sister of the bride. She was gowned the same as the
maid of honor and carried the same bouquet.
The flowers were all by Mrs. Jean McKee ,of Ben -
miller.
Groomsman w Mr. Paul Keller of London. Usher
was Mr. David Needham also of London.
Following the wedding ceremony, a dinner .and
reception were held at the Bedford Hotel, Goderich.
For a wedding trip to the Southern United States, the
bride changed to an off-white polyester one piece
dress featuring sleeves gathered at the wrists, an
openwork neckline and matching openwork belt and
brown accessories. Her corsage was a .cream cym-
bidium orchid with touches of brown and rust.
Prior to the wedding the bride was feted at several
showers. Mrs. G.G. Parsons held a shower at her
cottage; Mrs. B.A. Sully held a luncheon and shower
a the Little Inn, Bayfield; Mrs. P.S. MacEwan and
Mrs. E.C. Hill held a 'luncheon and made a presen-
tation to the bride at the home of Mrs. P.S. MacEwan;
Mrs. W.A. Walker held a luncheon at the Benmiller
Inn; and Misses Joanne and Cathy Britnell held a
shower.
The groom's mother entertained . at her -home
following the rehearsal.
