Two white wicker standards with bouquets of yellow
flowers decorated Knox Presbyterian Church in
Goderich for the wedding ceremony of Joanne Lynn
Walters and Steven Richard Buchanan on September
23at4p.m.
The bride is the only daughter of Gordon and Winnie
Walters of Goderich and the groom is the oldest son of
Fred and Sheila Buchanan of RR 1, Acton.
The Reverend G.L. Royal officiated at the wedding
ceremony. Organist Lorne Dotterer provided the
music_
The bride was given in marriage by her parents. She
wore a long sleeved, high neck white gown with a lace
inset at the bodice and a waist length veil. She carried
a cascade bouquet of yellow and white flowers.
Maid of honor was Valerie Johnston of Goderich,
friend of the bride. She wore a rust colored gown with
a matching chiffon cape and carried a nosegay of
yellow`andgold flowers.
Bridesmaids were Kim Denstedt of Elmira, friend
of the bride and Kelly Buchanan of Acton, sister of the
groom. They were gowned identically to the maid of
honor and Cairiedthe same .nosegays.._ . _. _... _ ._ ...
Groomsman was Brad Buchanan of Acton, brother
of the groom. Guests were ushered into the church by
Bill Walters of Goderich, brother of the bride; Ron
Moore of Acton, friend of the- groom and Eric Kuch-
mack of Acton, also a friend of the groom.

The groom and his attendants wore light brown
tuxedos with yellow boutonnieres.
Following the wedding ceremony, a dinner and
reception were held at Saltford Valley Hall.
The bride's mother greeted guests wearing a beige
dress with matching chiffon cape and a corsage of
orange roses. The groom's mother chose a mint green
gown with a matching floor length jacket and a cor.
sage of white roses.
For a wedding trip to Ottawa, the bride changed to a
matching blouseand-skirtof beige with-a--yellowsilk
rose corsage.
Mr. and Mrs. Steve Buchanan are residing in
Colborne Township.
Prior to the wedding, the bride was feted at several
showers, Marie Hoy, cousion of the bride, held a
shower at her home for friends and relatives of the
bride. Valerie Johnston, Marg Royal and Moe
McCauley held a shower for friends of the bride at the
home of Marg Royal. Diane Buchanan, aunt of the
groom, Pat Clifford, aunt of the groom, and Valerie
Vanderburg held a shower at the Buchanan home for
relatives of the groom and friends from the com-
muiaity . F.ellow._.Signal-Star.employees held a .shower..
for the bride at the home of Ruth Leonard.
Also prior. to the wedding, Barry and Jeanette
Foance, uncle and aunt of the groom, held a party for
the bride and groom at their home in Brampton. The
groom's parents hosted the rehearsal party.

Dungannon wedding
The lawn- at Dungannon United Church . was
decorated with a white arbor, pink and white gladioli
and potted shrubs, for the wedding of Annette Hodges
and Gerry Bere on Friday, September 8 at 6:30 p.m.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd
Hodges and the .groom the son of Mrs. Mary Bere, all
of Dungannon.
The Reverend C.G. Westhaver officiated at the
double ring ceremony.
Speakerswere placed on the lawn and musicwas
played from a tape. The bride and her father walked
down the aisle to Colour My World. Other songs played
during the ceremony were Love Me Tender, Love Me
True, Countpn Me, and Just the Way YQU, re.,
The bride 'wore a floor length gown, featuring a high
'neck with sheer' sleeves, a sheer yoke trimmed with
seed pearls and a ruffle a otind • the bottom, all
trimmed with lace. The long veil, edged with lace,was
attached to a headdress of white silk flowers.
She carried a silk bouquet of pink sweetheart roses,
miniature white carnations and white orchids..
The maid of honour, Miss Brenda Chisholm, of
Lucknow, cousin of the bride, wore a pink silk gown
with a scoop neck and gathered waist. She carried a
silk bouquet of miniature white carnations, pink
sweetheart roses and blue tinted daisies.
Groomsman was John Stanbury of Dungannon,
brother-in-law of .the groom. The groom and his at-
tendant wore blue three-piece suits with white rose
boutonnieres. '
Following the wedding, a reception was held at
Lucknow Community Centre..
The bride's mother greeted guests in a blue silk
• dress with a gathered cape and a white rose corsage.
The groom's mother wore a blue dress with a pat-
terned chiffon cape and a pink rose corsage.
For a wedding trip to Buffalo, New York, the bride
changed to a brown and white pinstriped three-piece
outfit. She wore a brown blouse and corsage. The
groom was attired in brown also.
The couple also stopped at Niagara Falls, the

Prior to the wedding, the bride was feted at several
showers held by Mrs. Marie Huff and Mrs. Ellie
McNeil, aunts of the bride; Mrs. Bessie McNee, aunt
of the groom and Mrs. Mary Bere., mother of the
groom at the church; Miss Kim Greene and Miss
Dorothy Culbert, friends of the bride, at Kim's home;
and a community shower at the Dungannon ,United

Church.
