It was sent to The Signal -Star by Reverend Leonard Warr, M.Th. We hear boys and girls, men and women say, "This is my allowance. And this is what I earned this week. Ilt is my money. ALL MINE!' What do you mean all yours?. Before this world was made, did you think off a plan for silver and gold? Did you hide the metal deep in the earth? Did you form them into coins? That money all yours? NOT REALLY! We sit at the table and say, "I'm hungry. This is my breakfast. It is all mine. ALL MINE! What do you mean - all 'ours? Before the wo Id was made, was it yo ho planned for food? as it you who made a fruit and grain to ow, the animals for /meat; and fish? Was /it you who thought of t1iis? • This is y house, I live here. I ave a room in my house all my own. It is min T ALL MINE! I it really yours? Bf ore the world was made did you remember that people would need • • •. shelter and heat from the cold? From the rain and the snow? From winds, and even from people'? Did you think of this? And did .you plan that trees should grow strong and tall? Was it you who formed the great hard stone and put it in the earth?•Did you really do this with your own hands? This house is yours? NOT REALLY! We went shopping today. In these bones and packages are my new clothes. In my closet and drawers are 'my old clothes - they are all mine. ALLMINE! - Are you sure those clothes are really yours? Was it you who created the animals of the world? Was it you who made sheep to be covered with wool? Did you make the wool into yarn? The yarn -into cloth? Wasityou who created the plants of the fields? The cotton plants and the flax? Was It you who made the • cloth into garments, lovely, strong and warm? Those clothes all yours? Everybody has some talent, a special skill, something he can do best. Some can sing; some can cook, plan airplanes and rockets. Others have skills for nursing, for growingplants and animals. Everybody has some talent. I have a talent. It belongs to me. I. can use my talent or not as I please for it. is all mine. ALL MINE! What do you mean_- all yours? ..Were you there when man was created? Were you the one who ga.ve him his gifts? From where did your talent come? Was it given to you? And who gave it? Did you make it yourself? How did you make it? That talent.. all yours? NOT REALLY! - Others may take away my money. They may take my clothes and•even my house. My body is my d'wn. It can belong to no other person. My hand is MY hand, my voice is MY voice, it belongs to me. It's mine! ALL MINE! Your body all yours? Yours to use for good • Minister: stu S_ Joy! Joy! Joy! R. DOUGLAS MacDONALD On Sunday, October '15 at 11 a.m., Knox Presbyterian Church in Goderich will celebrate its annual Anniversary Service. The congregation was founded in 1835 and has worshipped at the corner of East Street and Vic- toria Street North ever since. The guest minister for the day will be The Reverend R. Douglas MacDonald, C.D., B.A., D.D., minister of Tolmie Memorial ., Presbyterian Church, Burgoyne. Dr. MacDonald is the only son of the late Dr. and Mrs. Charles MacDohald. Dr. Charles MacDonald was for many years minister of the Presbyterian Church in Lucknow and was Moderator of the General Assembly in 1947. Dr. Douglas MacDonald graduated from University College, University of Toronto in 1937 and from Knox . College, Toronto in 1940. His first appointment was to Alma Street Presbyterian Church and North Street Presbyterian Church in St. Thomas. In November 1942, he enlisted in the Canadian Army as a padre and served overseas for two and a half years, being discharged in July 1946. He had been a Public School trustee for 20 years. From 1969 to 1972 he was Assistant" Executive Director of the Ontario School Trustee Council. In 1972 he returned to -the pastorate and was called to his present i i e. • charge. He received the Cen- tennial Medal of Canada in 1967 and was granted the Canada Forces Decoration in 1961. Dr. MacDonald was elected Moderator of the Synod of Hamilton and London in 1977 and has served on various boards and committees of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church in Canada.
