HomeMy WebLinkAboutThe Goderich Signal-Star, 1978-10-12, Page 21For those of you who have never seen a gollywog doll, you are looking at four
of them right now. Mrs. Joan Pope, newcomer to Goderich from England,
says these dolls are as popular as teddy bears in England and are often one
of the first toys a child has. It's difficult to explain exactly how they
originated, she says. Along with stuffed animals these gollywogs will be
featured at the Christmas Country Fair in Saltford on October 18 and 21.

Pope..
If you are attending the
Christmas Country Fair,
this year; look for Mrs.
Pope's booth. It may be a
good place' tobuy a child
you know a hand -made
stuffed animal toy or just
a place to stop and chat
with a woman who loves
her adopted country,
Canada.
