Wed at Knox
The sanctuary of Knox Presbyterian Church was
beautifully decorated with baskets of yellow and blue -
tinted gladioli and baby's breath and candelabras
enhanced with- similar blooms for the August 12
ceremony uniting in marriage Mary Leslie, daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. J. Maxwell Cutt, Goderich; and Brent
Carlton, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Baer, R.R. 4,
Goderich.
The double -ring ceremony was performed by Rev.
G. Lockhart Royal and the wedding music was played
by organist Lorne Dotterer.
The bride, given in marriage by her father wore an
original gown of peau de soie. ,The scoop -necked
empire -waisted bodice was of imported French lace,
matching the lace appliques and lace trim on the skirt,
long pointed sleeves and cathedral train of the gown.
Her matching lace wide -brimmed hat was trimmed
with seed. pearls and a lace -trimmed three -tiered
blusher veil. The bride's flowers were a cascade of
blush pink orchids entwined with stephanotis and
tendrils of myrtle.
The maid of honor, Miss Shelley Baer, sister of the
grooms -were a -yeih whiff ii gown. The v-ne ed—
bodice featured a deep ruffled collar which formed a
capelet. She carried a cascade of miniature blue
carnations and stephanotis centered with a large
white glamellia.
The bridesmaid, Miss Marla Widdifield, cousin of
the bride, was gowned similarly in blue chiffon. Her
flowers were yellow carnations with a white
glamellia. Both attendants wore hair bands of
stephanotis and baby's breath.
The groom was attired in a light blue tuxedo with
dark blue velvet lapels, white ruffled shirt and a white
rose boutonniere. His best man, Craig Morley, Clin-
ton, and usher James Cutt, Goderich, were similarly
attired but with shirts in yellow and blue and
boutonnieres of a yellow rose.
During the signing of the register, Piper Glen
McGregor, Clinton, played Amazing Grace, ac-
companied by the organist and also piped the bridal
party from the church.
A reception followed at the White Carnation,
Holm esville. The bride's table was centered with a
four -tiered wedding cake, flanked by arrangements of
yellow and blue -tinted gladioli with lighted tapers.
The guests' tables were adorned with centerpieces of
blue and yellow carnations and mums.
• The bride's mother greeted' guests wearing a full -
skirted persimmon chiffon gown with matching elbow -
length cape. The groom's mother was gowned in a
sleeveless bright pink jersey with full pleated skirt.
An hbnoured guest at the wedding was the bride's
maternal grandmother, Mrs. W.R. Copp, Windsor,
She wore a lace -trimmed blue chiffon dress with long
wing sleeves. Both mothers and grandmother .wore
corsages of a white Japped orchid with stephanotis.
Master of ceremonies for the reception was Fred
Lobb, Clinton. The toast to the bride was proposed by
John Schaefer, Goderich.
For the wedding trip to Delawana Inn, .Honey
Harbour, Georgian Bay, the bride wore a street -length
chiffon dress in shades ofputple, brown and gold. The
square -necked* gown featured long, full Sleeves
gathered at the wrists and a tiered ruffled skirt. Her
accessories were beige and brown and she wore a
blush pink orchid. The groom was .attired in a three-
piece beige suit.
Mr. and Mrs. Baer are residing in Goderich at 81
Bruce Street East.

Nile wedding ceremony
Rev. C. G. Westhaver, Dungannon, officiated at a
wedding ceremony in Nile United Church on Saturday,
September 2nd, which joinedin marriage Debra
Elaine, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Stothers,
Nile to Stephen William, son of Mr. and Mrs. William
Park, Dungannon.
The church was decorated with yellow and white
mums, yellow daisies, white gladioli and crystal
candleholders with white candles for the double -ring
ceremony. Wedding music was supplied by Mrs.
Karen Webster, and soloist was Mrs. Helen Lindsay,
aunt of the- bride Who sang "You Light Up My Life"
and "We've Only Just Begun".
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a
gown of white French sheer over arnel trimmed with
lace, V -neckline and empire waist with the skirt
flowing into a long train. Her long veil edged with lace
was attached to a headdress of white silk flowers. She
carried yellow roses and white miniature carnations.
Matron of honor was Michele Rourke, friend of the
bride, Zurich. Bridesmaids were Karen Stothers, Nile,
Valerie Mallough, Goderich, sisters of the bride and
Elaine Stewart, Dungannon, friend of the bride. They
wore full length rust polyester shoestring strap
dresses with matching capes. They carried parasols
trimmed with silk flowers of yellow daisies and rust
ribbon and wore a silk yellow daisie in their hair.
Flowergirl was.. Julie-Stothers,,; -niece of ..the bride,
Nile. Her dress was similar to those of the senior at-
tendants and she wore a silk yellow daisy in her hair
and carried a parasol trimmed with silk daisies.
Ringbearer was Master Bradley Park, brother of
the groom.
Groomsman was Robert Rourke, friend of the
groom, Zurich. Ushers were Tom Park, brother of the
groom, Wayne Park, cousin of the groom and Ronald
Olson, friend of the groom, all of Dungannon. Bryan
Stothers, brother of the bride, Nile was Master of
Ceremonies.

Mrs. Susan Jane
MacLeod of Goderich
died in Alexandra Marine
and General Hospital,
Monday September 11.
She was 90.
Mrs. MacLeod w_as
born • in Port Elgin
December 31, 1887 the
daughter of William and
Christine (MacLeod)
Campbell.
She was liredeceased
by her first husband,
Thomas Johnston in 1914
and her second husband,
Donald MacLeod in 1965.
She is survived by four
daughters; Mrs. Louise
(Helen) Wells, Exeter;
Mrs. Verne (Irene)
Harness, Exeter; Mrs.
Harold (Vera) Cham-
bers, Goderich and Mrs.
Roy (Grace) Mugford,
Goderich. She was
predeceased by a
daughter, Mrs. George
(Myrtle) Beacom.
Mrs. MacLeod is
survived by 15 grand-
children and 19 great-
grandchildren.
Rev. G.L. Royal con-
ducted .funeral services
at McCallum Funeral
Home, Thursday, Sep-
tember 14. Interment
followed in Maitland
Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Bill
Beacom, Ron Mugford,
Bob Nicol, Don Wells,
John Harness and Paul
Chambers. Flower
bearers were Wayne
Fuller and Jim Durnin.
EDWARD WILLIAMS
Edward Williams of
Kingston died Friday,
September 1 in Kingston
at the ageof77.
Mr. Williams was born
in Colborne Township
the son of Jack and Kate
(Haughton) Williams. He
is survived by several
cousins.
After cremation, a
memorial service was
held Friday, September
15 at McCallum Funeral
Home by Rev. ' Robert
Crocker. Interment
followed in Colborne
Cemetery.

After the ceremony dinner was served in the
Lucknow Community Centre followed by a reception.
Guests were present from London, Mont Pelieu,
Ohio and surrounding area. Wedding congratulations
were received -from the groom's relatives in England.
The bride travelled in a blue pant suit with a corsage
of pink roses.
The newlyweds are residing in Dungannon.
Prior to her marriage a community shower was held
at Nile United Church and at Brookside School. Mrs.
Michele Rourke was hostess for a shower as well.
