KELLER Patients at Alexandra Marine and General Hospital can still have telephones in their rooms and by their beds, but they will soon be paying $5 to have them brought in. The hospital board agreed Monday evening at a regular board - meeting to institute the fee in an effort to offset the high cost of telephone service at the hospital. The $5 will be paid only once, when the telephone has been installed in the patient's room, it makes no difference if the patient is in hospital for one day or six months. No further charge will be made. .The telephones are hooked up to a special Fine: --NO- tag ..-distance - calls can be made on this line. Hospital board chairman Jo Berry said the hospital had been left with large bills which were never paid under ,the previous system.
