The—Vikings usually prepitre for the season opener with a home and home series against Sarnia Central but this year, that series has been limited to one game. Both Viking teams will travel to Sarnia Friday for the games. The season then begins the following ,week for both teams as the Vikings will host Stratford Central Thursday, September 21. Inthe sixth the Cleaners added three more runs when Frank MacDonald reached base on an error and George Sutton and 'Bill .Gallow smacked back to back doubles. Gallow moved to third on Harman's sacrifice and scored on a hit and run play. Central Huron was unable to field a senior team this year so the seniors will have a week off until October 19 when Stratford Northwestern will provide the op- position. - The Vikings will be, .home October 26 against twp Listowel teams aid, will play their final game of the season Tuesday, October 31 in Exeter. The semi-finals will be played Tuesday, November 7 and the final game is scheduled for Saturday, November 11. Squadron offers boating courses The Goderich Power Squadron, an affiliate of the Canadian Power Squadrons, will be of- fering several power and sail courses in Clinton this fall. —The -§qus orb-- -` offering courses in boating, searreanship sail, seamanship power and advanced piloting at Central Huron Secondary School in Clinton beginning September 27. The courses will be conducted on Wednesday evenings arid registration for all courses will be held September 20 and 21 at CHSS between 7:30 and 9:30 p.m. The Goderich Squadron is part of the Western Ontario Division and boasts a membership of 75. The courses are open to any interested in- dividuals, not just boaters and completion of the basic boating course is a requirement to_ –15ecoming a member of the Canadian Power Squadrons. The courses will be taught by Goderich squadron members and the duration of the in- struction depends on the class. The CPS is a nation - wide association of boating enthusiasts, banded together for fellowship and to in- crease their knowledge of all phases of seamanship and navigation in both power and sail.
