McGees win series McGee Pontiacs swamped Little Bowl 12-3 Sunday and moved into the Goderich Industrial League semi finals dumping the Bowlers in their best of three series. The Pontiacs collected 10 hits, two of them home runs, in two big innings against the Bowlers to grab the series win. The Bowlers managed two of their runs in the second inning using errors and a single by Keith Allen to score them. Allen went to second on an error after he singled and moved to third on a fielder's choice. Bill Chisholm used the fielder's choice to get on and moved •rou-ndn a-sae•rifi ethat-- 'scored Allen. Chisholm crossed the plate on a Pontiac error. McGee roared back with a five run rally capped with Ken Van- derburg's three run homer. Russ Pruder singled and an error on Ken Daer's hit put men on first and second. Ken Meriam and Paul Kelly singled to tie the game and Vanderburg hit a towering drive over the right centre field fence that all but ended the game after two. r beautiful late model used cars '78 PONTIAC CATALINA 4 door sedan, 30J V8, automatic, power steering, power brakes, radio, rear speaker, electric rear defogger, vinyl top, stone shields, side mouldings, accent stripes, tinted windshield, whltewalis, wheel discs, lamp package. remote mirror, mats, 12,000 Km. Every sport and ac- ivity has its own set of rules, but there is one ule that •is common to all, and that is, if you take hocolate bars or pop, tc. out onto the course or ourt, make sure you - deposit the empty cans and•used wrappers in the. containers provided. Nothing looks worse than to see cans lying under trees` or bushes where they have been tossed. Admittedly, this doesn't happen very often, but when it does it sticks out like a sore thumb. It is the least we can do to help keep the country club 'looking great, especially in vie* of the labour of love performed by Kim Arbour, when he stayed ° up all night to water the fairways, having to get' out every hour to change position of the hoses. Remember, what I said two weeks ago, about everybody pitching in and helping -- well, this is the latest example. Thanks a heap, Kim! In case some non - golfer reads this, we have our own pump which draws water • from the river for this purpose, so we are not breaking any watering regulations.
