They revive memories for city dwellers who used to. vacation on an uncle's - farm, while livestock judging and horse shows attract retired farmers. Regardless off country or city backgrounds, youngsters clamor for candy floss and rides on the ferris wheel. "There's something magic about a fair," says E.A. Starr, director of the Agricultural and Horticultural Societies Branch, Ontario ministry of agriculture and food. "More than 230 fairs are scattered from the Manitoba border to the Ottawa River."
