July 11 with 10 members present. ..,Mrs. Hazel McCreath chaired the opening of the meeting and the business_ The roil call was an- swered by naming the place you would like to spend your holidays. Achievement Day will be held in Ontario Street Church August 16, Mrs. Gonnie Tak requested all members save Kraft salad dressing and mayonnaise labels. A member of the WI Mrs. Jean Lobb showed pictures of many places she visited while in Ireland and pictures with relatives she visited. She had maps of Ireland and one had many names familiar to Goderich Township. Mrs. Lobb told how the forefathers of these people immigrated to Canada in the 1800's and later to this area. Mrs. Alice Porter thanked Mrs. Lobb for her most ' informative talk. A committee t+ was named to arrange a concert in the fall. Irene Cudmore arranged two contests with the win- ners, Thursa Miller and He 'en Lindsay. Alice Porter had prizes for the following: the one whose birthday closest to July 11, won by Thursa Miller; also Thursa had the most pennies with her; the closest wedding an- niversary, Mrs. Jean Lobb; the most buttons, Mrs. Hazel McCreach; Mrs. • Grace Walters guessed, the,lucky number. A picnic lunch was enjoyed and- Mrs, Jean Lobb brought Irish soda bread, hard boiled eggs and dheese. These items plus a beverage are served once'a day in an Irish home. Elliott MacKichan of Ailsa Craig visited the Rev. and Mrs. Clyde Westhaver on Sunday. CHURCH NEWS Daily Vacation Bible School is over once again in the Dungannon community. ' The four junior classes met in the United Church and the four senior classes in the Christian Fellowship church. The enrolment for the entire school was over 90, the highest attendance was 90 with an average at- tendance of 87. A program was held Friday evening in the Christian Fellowship church at which some 175 people were in at- tendance. Each class gave a demonstration of something they had ,learned during the,week. This took the form of singing, reciting memory verses, or answering questions asked by the teacher. The daily offerings went to a missionary project of -supplying language. There were sufficient offerings to buy 32 Bibles. Richard Yordy from St Jacob's gave th message Sunday -eVeni at the drive-in servi e ng ce. The last drive-in ser- vice -of the season will be held next Sunday. July 30. James Stanley, from the Missionary Church in Listowel, will be bringing the message and music will be supplied by a musical group called, The Last Command.
