The second part of Jesus' statement, "give to God what is God's", reminds us that ''ve are to give God the love, the worship and the obedience He deserves. Wed in Clinton The exchange of marriage vows by Ronald Bassett Young and Helen—Edith Haugh took place on Saturday, July 1 in the Wesley -Willis United Church, Clinton. The double ring ceremony was performed by the Reverend John Oestreicher at 3 o'clock. The bride is the daughter • of Mrs. Margaret Livermore of Clinton and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs_ Harold Young of Goderich. The soloist, Mrs. Marg Livermore of Fordwich -sister-in-law of the bride sang "You Light .Up .My. • Life", "Annie's Son "The Lord's Prayer", and "It's Only Just Begun", accompanied by Miss Cathy Potter of Clinton at the organ_ The bride was given in marriage by her brother, Mr_ Ron Livermore of Fordwich_ She wore a gown of cream jersey sata peau featuring a V-neck, gathered at the empire waistline and accented by a matching elbow -length cape_ She wore a red rosebud in her hair and carried a bououet of red- rosebuds.: white car- nations and baby's breath. encircled by imported lace. Mrs. Barbara Livermore of Clinton, sister-in-law of the bride was matron of honour_ Mrs. Dianne MacLean of .Goderich: groom was bridesmaid_ They wore mint green gowns similar to the bride's: They carried nosegays of pink rosebuds, white car- nations and baby's breath_ Miss Donna Lynn Haugh, daughter of the_hritje.and Miss Lori Livermore, niece of the bride, acting as junior bridesmaids wore mint green dresses, featuring cap sleeves and a square neck trimmed in lace, made by the mother of the groom. They carried white wicker baskets of pink rosebuds, white car- nations and baby's breath. -Brother of the groom. Mr. Wayne Young of Goderich acted both as best man and master of ceremonies. Mr_ Robert Livermore of Clinton, brother of the bride, was the usher. The groom was attired in a camel jacket with contrasting dark brown vest arid' trousers and a red rose bud on his lapel. His attendants were similarity dressed with white rosebud boutonnieres. Following the wedding ceremony, the guests were received in the church fellowship hall. For the oc- casion, the bride's mother greeted guests wearing a floor length gown of pale green with a matching long sleeved eyelet jacket and a pink rosebud corsage_ The groom's mother chose an iced blue sata' peau gown complemented by an open diamond neckline graduating to a full floor -length skirt with chiffon cape and white rosebud corsage_ For the wedding dinner. the hall was decorated with pink and white streamers and each table was adorned by multi -colored roses. After the meal, served by- the church ladies, Mrs. Margaret Thorndike of Clinton, proposed the toast to the bride. Telegrams were read from relatives from B.C. The reception followed at the Yanastra Recreation Centre where the guests enjoyed dancing to the Music Makers. Guests were present from Fordwich, Toronto, Brantford, London, Stratford, Exeter, Glencoe, Ingersoll, Goderich and Clinton. The couple 'motored to the ' West Coast for their honeymoon. Upon returning they will take up residence in their new;home at 375 Matilda Street, Clinton. Prior to the wedding the bride was honored at a neighbourhood shower given by Mrs. Audrey Walsh and Mrs_ Rene Brochu. So many other activities and interests invite our involvement that we may be tempted to forget where our first loyalty must lie. We even face the danger • of forgetting that also in Sure�n e -Stifda a""tlle— Lord's Day. a day to worship Hitn with His people. There is also a temp- tation that seems to have gained strength in recent years. Many people who profess to know and trust the Saviour would avoid the Church_ They would attempt to separate loyalty to Christ frgm -loyalty to His Church. When we remember however. that according —to the- Bible;-the£hureh-ts- the body of Christ, we see that loyalty to the one_ involves loyalty to the • other: • Who-- can-- imagine— saying, "I will love Christ, the head, but will have nothing to do with the member of His body, the Church?" It is good to celebrate a national holiday, and to renew our sense •of loyalty to the country in which we are citizens. It is good to develop a sense of loyalty to other worthy egg es` and `insBfutCon- But, when we know the faithfulness of God, who promises never to fail nor forsake His children, it is best to live as loyal children of God and citizens of His Kingdom. The couple, who live on Cambria Road in Goderich, were honored by family and friends on the occasion of their anniversary with a dinner at the Maitland Country Club on Saturday evening. The— hospital -project- --- will upgrade fire protection through replacement of its laundry building. Two-thirds of the ap- proved cost of the project will be funded by the Ontario Ministry of Health. Project planning will begin immediately with completion Timbrell exectedatt;is N Timbrell also an- nounced approval for a renovation project at the Clinton Public Hospital. The project consists of upgrading various areas in the hospital to meet current fire safety standards. The Ontario Ministry of Health will fund two- thirds' of the approved •costs of the project.
