Sunset _ to host
tournament -

Warm sunny days and
a notable increase in
vacationing golfers has
made for a pleasant week
at the Sunset.
This coming week, the
Sunset is hosting the
annual Couples Tour-
nament on. July 23.
Entries are still being
accepted for this event.
Tee •off times are still
open between 11 and 2
p.m. Super prizes and a
roast beef dinner will
follow golf. If there are
any couples who are
interested in playing in
this event please contact
the Pro Shop.
The Four-Ball-Best--
BaIIre'vent was held on
July 16. This event is held
annually for the Fred
Hull's Memorial Trophy..
The team of Gerry Mero,
Gary Chambers, Paul
Corriveau and Coley
McDonagh were the
winners for the trophy.
Congratulations!
Another record crowd
turned out for Men's
Night on July 11. Low
gross was Bob Greer and
low net was Walter
Sheardown.. First flight
winners were Randy
Miller Paul Baechler,
Stan Connelly, Leroy
Bedour and Glen
Falkiner. Second flight
winners included Vic
Powell, Bruce Lyndon,
Heinz Sartori, Andy
Smith and Mike Russelo.
Third flight winners were
Jim Mero, Man-
fred Popernitsch, Jim
Hayter and ' George
Bolton.
The Ladies Interclub
was held this past
Thursday July 13 at the
Sunset. First flight low
gross was Evelyn Evers
and low net was Verna
Kane. Low gross, for the
second flight, was Barb
Perry and low net was
Diane" McKenzie. Third
flight low gross was
Thgra McCabe and low
net was Ellen Connelly.
Putting prizes went to
Ardith Brissette, Betty
Wallace and Sandy
Braid.
Ladies' Night was
played in conjunction
with and following the
Ladies Interclub. First
flight winners were Sue
MacAdam for low gross
and Verna Kane for low
_net. Second flight low
gross and low net were
Helen MacDonald and
Betty Helesic respec-
tively. Third flight -low
gross was Thora McCabe
and low net was Bunny
LeBlanc.
The two ball held this
past Saturday July 15 was
followed by a barbecue in
which everyone brought'
their own meat. Joyce
Bolton and Jim Hayter
were first place.winners.
Second place winners
were Stan Connelly and
Ann Mclsaac. Andy'
Smith was teamed with
Karen Sturdy and Sherry
Hayter for a.third place
win.
Juniors are reminded
that <they still'have time
to enter the Junior
Invitation on July 26. We
have accepted a large
number of -entries for this.
event and expect that it
will be a good day for
everyone concerned.
Prizes donated by the
local merchants and- a
barbecue will follow this
tournament.
Wingham
beats Tykes
For two innings the
Goderich Victoria and'
Grey Tykes were battling,
in a tie ball game with
Wingham.
That was until
Wingham exploded for 10
runs in the third inning
and added a five -run rally
in the fourth frame

and Coley McDonagh won the Fred Hulls Memorial Trophy at the''
Sunset annual four -ball -best -ball members tournament;
Saturday. The foursome carded a two -under par 66 to win the
-event. The t ;ophy was donated in memory of the course designer.

Trail riders hold annual show
The Huron Trail Riders
held their second club
• show at the Dungannon
Fair grounds Saturday.
There was a good turnout
for the event that was
-judged by Terry Deeks.
Following the show a
general meeting was held
and the' club planned a
second show to be held in
Augustin Dungannon.
