In 1928 the MainFamily
descendants began
having an annual 'Sum-
mer picnic and this has
continued until the
present.
This year it was held in
Goderich at Harbour
Park on Sunday, .July 9.
Those who attend are
descendants of the
original three Mair
brothers who settled at
Chesley and Londesboro
in 1852 from Hawick,
Scot1P'nd.
Seventy-five deScen-
deAts this year enjoyed
the 50th yearly picnic
smorgasbord. Races,
games and baseball were
capably looked after by
Mary Louise Hood of
Owen Sound.
Correspondence was
received from . Van-
couver. A relative who
lives there sent smoked
salmon for the whole
group.
This year's president
was Mr. Jim Mair of
Brussels and Mrs. Anna
Hood of Owen Sound was
secretary -treasurer.
Ele-ation of officers for
next year's picnic -',.took
place. Mr. and Mrs.
Stuart Bryans pow hold
the offices of president
and secretary -treasurer.
Mrs. Nancy Treitz
(Watters) of London was
nominated to look after
sports for next year.
Prizes were won for.

Mr. and Mrs. Bob Cook of MacDonald Street, Goderich returned
from holidays to learn they won $1,000 in the weekly Grandstand

Harold George Elligson
of Stratford passed away
at the Stratford General
Hospital on Thursday,
July 13 in his 71st year,
after a lengthy illness.
He is survived by his
wife, the former. Jean
Drennan of Ashfield
(sister of Henry Drennan,
RR 7, Lucknow) one son
William E. of Elmira, two
grandchildren and one
brother and one sister.
His bOdy rested at the
Heinbuck Funeral Horne
in Stratford until
Saturday at noon when
the body was moved to
the Zion Evangelical
Lutheran Church, Erie
Street, Stratford for
funeral service,.
Interment was in the
" Avondale Cemetery.
Pallbearers were -Gordon
Drennan, Eric Drennan,
Allan Drennan and
George Collinson,
Goderich; Ken Collins,
Aurora; and`Mr. McLeod
of Hamilton. Flower
