The fight was won at a special hearing of 26 county municipal treasurers and was the first time an assessment appeal hearing has been held in Huron. It's also one of the few to be won in the province. This involves choosing one tourist or more every Thursday, taking them to dinner and treating them to a tour of the town. This Summer's first tourists of the week were three men who sailed to Goderich from Detroit, Michigan.
