Knox Presbyterian Church in Goderich was prettily decorated with white glads and yellow daisies in white wicker standards on Saturday, June 17 at 4 p.m. for the wedding ceremony of Colleen gale Straughan of Goderich and Robert Richard McLean also of Goderich: The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Straughan of Goderich and .the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert McLean also of Goderich. The Reverend G. L. Royal officiated atthe double ring ceremony. Lorne Dotterer provided music for the ceremony' with the organ selection, "Walk Hand in Hand By My Side". The bride was given in marriage by her father. She were a gown of polyester satin overlaid with chiffon and featuring lace trim and shoulder length veil. She carried a cascading bouquet of white miniature carnations, stephanotis and white orchids. Matron of honor was Bev 0 Brien. of Goderich, friend of the bride. She wore a four -tier mint green - of estet"satin- With- eyelet trim. 'She carried` white glamelias and yellow miniature carnations. Bridesmaids -were Cathie Sturdy', Patti Denomme and Jody Hoy all of Goderich, friends of the bride. They were gowned identically to the matron of honor and carried the same bouquets. Flowergirl was Carla McKee of Kincardine, cousin of the groom. She wore a white polyester satin gown with a flowered headpiece and carried a nosegay of white carnations and yellow sweetheart roses. Groomsman was Don Bricker of Goderich, friend of the groom. Ushers were Randy McLean of Flamboro;. Ontario, brother of• the groom, Tim McLean of Goderich, brother of the groom and John Hoy of Goderich, friend of the • groom. They all wore dark green tuxedos. Ringbearer was Kevin Fritzley of Goderich, cousin, of the bride. Following the wedding ceremony a reception was held at Saltford Valley Hall. The bride's mother. . greeted guests ina melon colored polyester gown with matching chiffon jacket and corsage of white gardenia -and stephanotis. The groom's mother chose a powder blue polyester gown with matching chiffon cape and a corsage of. white gardenia and stephanotis. For a wedding trip to, Cove Haven Honeymoon Resort in the Pocono Mountains, Lakeville, Penn- sylvania, the bride changed to a yellow sun dress with a corsage of orange azaleas. • Mr. and Mrs. McLean are residing 'at 15. Nelson Street West in Goderich. Prior to the •weddinga stag was held -at the Sunset Golf Course by girlfriends of the bride for the bride. She was also feted at a shower held by Beth McLean, aunt of tlie-groo.m for friends and relatives; at one held by Doris Pagon and Lois Straughan for friends and. relatives; at one held by. GOPERICH ELECTRIC 109 South Ste, Godolrich 524-9512 'A very pretty wedding took place in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Kingsbridge on Saturday, July 8 when Reverend Father Ed Dentinger, C.R. united in marriage Miss Dale Sq s, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Coles, RRI, K,Ix17 cardine and Robert Waring, son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Waring of London. The bride was attended by her maid of honour, Miss Janet Lobb of Guelph, a long time friend, and bridesmaids were Miss Kim Cole, sister of the bride and Miss Kathy Waring, London, sister of the groom. The groom was at- tended by his best man, Mr. David McLeod of London. Ushers were Terry Cole ,of Guelph, brother of 'the bride and Ted Waring of London, bKother of the groom. Miss Denise Dalton was at the organ. The reception was held in the Kingsbridge Parish Hall with approximately 70 guests served a ham and beef dinner by members of the Kingsbridge Catholic Women's League. Honored guests were Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Marshall of Kitchener, grandparents of the bride and Mrs. Marie Grundy of Brantford, grand- mother of the groom. Guests were present from London, Kitchener, Guelph, Brantford, Galt, Kincrdirie, Point Clark and surroundjng area; The bride is a recent graduate of 'the University of Western Ontario, London and the groom is a member of the Canadian Armed Forces. They will be making their home in Calgary, Alberta. Mrs. Alice (Dalton) Pope, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jack Jim Dalton, formerly of Kingsbridge passed away on Sunday, June 25 at a nursing home in Kit- chener. Her body rested ' 'at Schreider's Funeral Home, Kitchener. Funeral mass was celebrated at St. Anne's Roman Catholic church on Wednesday, June 28. She is survived by her three daughters, Mrs. Jake, (Mary) Anton of. Kitchener; Mrs. Dom (Claire) Baldasaro of North Bay and Mrs. Wally (Aileen) Baldasaro of Hamilton. . The late Alice Dalton ge scene o was'a'former teacher and taught at Kingsbridge in the year 1910. Sincere , sympathy is extended to the family and relatives of M,r. Sibrand Wilts who passed ••away at his residence on Saturday, July 8, in his 7lstyear. 'His body rested at the Tasker Funeral Home in Blyth until 1 p.rrl. on Monday, July 10 when removal was made to the Blyth Christian Refor- med Church for service at 2 p.m. Interment was in the Blyth Union Cemetery. Mr. and Mrs. James O'Neill and Mrs. Mickey MacLennan of Collingwood left on Sunday, June 25 for holidays at the East Coast. They plan to visit with their son Dennis, who makes his home in New Brunswick. Mr. Leo Courtney ' of Goderich and formerly of Kingsbridge was ad- mitted to the Alexandra Marine and General Hospital, Goderich on Wednesday, July 5. His many friends wish him a speedy recovery. Theresa Bernadette (Adelmann) Friend, beloved wife of Ronald E. Friend, passed away in Houston,, Texas on Wednesday, June 28 in her 45th year. Mrs. Friend was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph A. John Hackett, son -of the late William Hackett and Ellen Bowler, for-, merly of Kingsbridge passed away at the Northland Manor, Port Colborne on Thursday, July 6 at the age of 78 years. He is survived by his wife Flora and a brother Thomas Hackett of Kitchener. He was predeceased by -Ills parents, his sister, Mrs. Harry (Winnifred) Hanson and two brothers, Frank and Joseph.
