THURSDAY, JUNE 29, 1978 Liberals say ublic doesn't want regtons terest in common to A Liberal Party Task Force has completed its study of regional government in Ontario and found widespread dissatisfaction among the public. Liberal Leader Stuart Smith revealed the fin- dings of his caucus committee in a speech on Wednesday, June 21 to the Annual Conference of Municipal Clerks and Treasurers of Ontario. He said the eight -member group, created last fall, came to the conclusion that the Government of Ontario erred in 1969 when it tried to impose a Metro Toronto govern- ment structure on other regions of the province. Council passed a motion which stated it was unwilling at this time to initiate proceedings to pass a spot zoning by-law which would give Mrs. Parks permission to establish a mobile home for a residence on part lot 38, Maitland Concession. Council passed a motion that J.M. Driver be permitted to continue his trailer camp operation at its present size and site but if he wishes to expand, he must comply with the township's trailer camp by-law.
