for 16 runs on 13 hits as
they rolled to their sixth
victory in eight starts.
Canada Company
defeated Graham
Electric 16-3 Sunday in a
game that was halted
after five innings of play
since the Company led
exceeding 10 runs.
Canada Company
scored three runs in the
first inning, four in the
second, three in the third
and capped the evening
with a six -run rally in the
fourth inning.
Company combined the
13 hits with five walks
and five errors in
recording their sixth
victory. Brian' Bowman
started the company
assault with a three -run
homer'in the first inning
and team-mates Stan
Doherty and Tom
O'Keefe followed suit
with homers later in the
game.
Doherty stroked a two -
run homer in the second
inning and O'Keefe added
a three -run shot in the
fourth.
Glen Tigert, O'Keefe,
Doherty, Terry Austin,
Don Bogie and Bill Durst
had two hits apiece for
Canada Company:
Bowman's homer was the
other Company hit.
Graham Electric
scored two ,runs in the
second inning on a walk
and an error and Bruce
Bowman added the other
Electric run with a homer
in the third inning.
Graham Electric
managed five hits off
Doherty in the game
while five went down
swinging.
The win was the sixth of
the season for Canada
Company against two
losses and leaves them
two points behind French
in the Dunlop Division.
They return to action
Sunday afternoon against
Fisher.

Sunset plans two -ball party Sunday

The big event for this
week at the Sunset will be
the two ball party which
will be held on Sunday,
June 25. Members and
greenfeers who- wish to
participate are asked to
sign in at the Clubhouse.
A brunch will be served
at 1 p.m. after which 18
holes of golf will be
played.
June 13 was a cold and
gloomy day but that did
not stop a good turnout
for Men's Night. Low
gross was Bob Greer and
low net was Greg
Beacom. First flight
winners were: Stan
Connelly, Brian Reeve
and , Paul Baechler;
second flight: Harold
MacPherson, Dale
Matthies, Jim Whalen,
Bob Boak, Dave Graf and
.`Mike Drennan; and third
flight: George Williams,
Walter Sheardown and
Mel Bogie.

Two Ball Champions are
now posted in the
Clubhouse, Members are
asked to arrange a
stl•itable time for their
match with their op-
ponent in the next two
weeks.
The Men's Field Day on
Jive 18 was a great
success. Winners for the

Paul Baechler; and third
place, Dave Graf and
Stan Connelly. Brunch
was served following
golf.
June 15 was Ladies'
Night at the Sunset.

Renovations to the club
house are in full swing at
the Maitland -Country
Club. The exterior of the
building has received a
fresh coat of sparkling
white paint, the roof has
been shingled and minor
repairs to the outside of
the building done.
More room in the
lounge and dining room is
being realized by the
removal of the wall
separating these areas
from the porch. Soon
diners will•' be able to
enjoy their meals while
watching a hole -in -one on
the seventh green, or
someone chip in on the
ninth.

double flight of steps
recently installed. Much

Courtney leads Gords to win
Des Courtney smacked
two doubles, scored a run
and fashioned a three
hitter to lead Gord's
Sports to a 5-2 victory
over Graham Electric in
Industrial League action.
Courtney held the
Electrics to just three
hits across seven innings
and went two -for -three at
the plate in leading his
team to their fourth win
of the season.
The win leaves the
Sports in third place in
the Maitland •Division,
four points out of first
place.
Graham Electric took
the lead in the first in-
ning of the game as they
combined one hit with
three errors to score their
two runs. Phil Black and
Glen Linner scored the
Electric runs.
Gord's got those back
in the third inning as
Courtney led off with a
double and scored on
Warren Watt's single.
Jon Ginn scored the
second Gord's run,
reaching home on Phil
Petrie's double.
Gords took the lead for
the first time in the game
in the fifth inning as Watt
tripled and scored on
Ginn's sacrifice. They
added two more runs in
the sixth inning on
doubles by Rumig and
Courtney.
Watt, Petrie and
Courtney had two hits
each for Gords. Bob
Simpson, Phil Black and
Glen Linner had a single
each for Graham..
Phil Black took the loss
for Graham allowing five
runs on 10 hits. He struck
out three batters and
walked three. Courtney
struck out three and
walked none.
