spend two weeks vacation

Catholic Women's
League of Kingsbridge,
Lucknow 'and St.
Augustine met at St;
Augustine on Monday,
June 5 at 8 p.m. The
councils . first met
separately with
Kingsbridge in the hall;
Lucknow in the church
vestry and St. Augustine
in the church.
At the joint meeting,
Miss Mary Luanne Clare,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Walter Clare delivered
her prize inning speech,
"The Hol*. Land". Mrs.
John Austin told of the
Convention held recently
meeting and refresh-
ments were served.
The next Friendship
Bible Coffee is at the
home of Mrs. Ken Wagler
on Wednesday. -
Doug Zehr, former
pastor, will bring the
message to the
congregation on Sunday
morning, June 18.
The ministers of
Dungannon Christian
Fellowship Church and
the United Church will be
endeavouring to contact
all children in Dungannon
and Nile area to make
known the Daily
Vacation Bible School
which will be held during
the week July 17-21.
M.r. and Mrs.
Lawrence's son, Mar-
shall, with his wife and
family, have returned to
Canada from Papua, New
Guinea, where they have
been for the past four
years working as tran-
slators under the Wycliffe
Bible Translators. They
are on a nine month
furlough.
They will be speaking
at the church next Sun-
day evening concerning
their work with the
Oksoprnin tribe.
Everyone is invited to
come out and hear about
their work in New
Guinea.

for the book covers. The
members are to bring
designs for the cover next
meeting which will be
held at the home of Mrs.
Marie Stewart.
The discussion
material was on,
"Preparing Soils,"
"Growing Young Plants
for Transplanting,"
"Planting the Garden,"
"Looking after your
Garden," and "Planting
and care of Flowers."
Mrs' Stewart handed out
pamphlets to use for
refeerences and to put in
the books.

Stoney Creek where they
joined women from other
Branches as quilters for
the day during Visitor's
Week at the F.W.I. O.
home.
Erland Lee helped
Mrs. Adelaide Hoodless
to form the Women's
Institute and Mrs. Erland
Lee wrote its first con-
stitution. The table she
wrote at is still in the
home along with many
other beautiful antique
pieces from that period.

Mrs. Westhaver were in
London last Monday to
attend, the graduation of
their daughter, Miss
Grace Westhaver, from
Teacher's College. Grace
is now making wedding
plates for the immediate
future.
John Stanbury at-

Kathie Stanbury from
Marvel Beauty School in
London on May 31. Kathie
wrote her exam on
Monday, June 5 and
started working at
Heather Beauty Salon,
Lighthouse Street,

The Reverend C. G.
Westhaver preached on
"The Bible and the Word
of God" and presented a
stirring challenge to all to
live lives which shall be a
model for others, all
example of the word of
God. The "Prayer of
Approach" used in the
service is one of the great
prayers of the church. It
was composed by the
outstanding English
scholar and churchman

Last Sunday's loose
offering at the Camp

Canadian Bible Society,

of re -organizing the work
of the Bible Society in our
communities. Dungannon
sent in $87 for the Bible
Society in 1977.
June 25 will be Com-
munion Sunday when it is
anticipated that transfers
of membership will be
dealt with at Dungannon.
The Dungannon Music
Committee is seeking a
church organist for the
new season beginning
with September. Anyone
with information and
suggestions is asked to
contact Penny Hodges or
the minister.

CHRISTIAN
FELLOWSHIP CHURCH
On Friday evening the
Maple View Church in-
vited the Dungannon
congregation to an
evening of fun and
fellowship in the church
community hall at
Wellesley. About 35
persons responded to the
invitation and enjoyed an
evening of singing,
crokinole and refresh-
ments.
Last Sunday evening
the church group took the
serive at Chesley Church.
The Hanover
congregation was also
present.
A quartet from the
Dungannon group, con-
sisted of Peter Martin,
Irene Martin, Murray
Martin and Ruth Martin,
sang several , numbers
which were greatly ap-
preciated.
Pastor Lawrence -gave
the message and Mrs.
Lawrence told a
children's story.
Laverne Martin was
song leader for the ser-
vice and Howard Martin
was master of
ceremonies.
A time of fellowship
was enjoyed after the
