Your friend, Nicole New birthday club members send names to the Captain Captain Comet is really happy this week to welcome some new members to the birthday club. They are Jennifer Sinclair who will be one year old May 6; Robert Dunne who will be 8 years old May 10; Nathan Daer of Port Albert who will be three years old May 3 All of these children will have a chance to win a prize during their birthday month, just for joining the club. Here's how it works. If you have a birthday coming up, send your name and address, your age and your birthdate to Captain Comet, Box 220, Industrial Park, Goderich, N7A 4B6 ... or drop the information off at the front desk in the Signal -Star building. Captain Comet is keeping a big book just for birthdays and he has a special system he goes by. He lists all the bir- thdays in May, for instance. The first name he receives is beside number one. The second name he receives is beside number two. And soon. At the end of the month, the Captain puts all the numbers in a big hat. He has one of his helpers pick a number out of a hat. The boy or the girl with his or her name beside the number taken from the hat will be the lucky winner. Each week, the Captain will publish the list of birthdays for that week. The Captain has a funny week ... different from yours. It goes from Wednesday to Tuesday and any birthdays sent in within those seven days will appear in the Signal -Star the following Thursday. It may sound confusing to you, but you can be sure that Captain Comet has it all f;gured out., To make it even more fun, send your picture along to Captain Comet. Almost any clear picture will do. Those' little school pictures are just fine. But please remember ... pictures cannot be returned to you.• It Captain Comet is having fun making up his starific birthday book.
