St. Marys girls
win championship
The St. Marys girls'
basketball team completed a
winning season as they
dumped Colborne to win the
elementary school basketball

after they had won their

rebounded with a 25-19 vic-

the consolation champion-

opening round match to
Colborne, 38-22.
St. Marys School enjoyed a
successful basketball season
as both the girls and boys
teams won the Huron -Perth

pionship in Exeter and
followed that up with the local
elementary championships in
Goderich.
Beach
nd pool summer staff hired
Although the weather
conditions of the past week
have been somewhat less
than conducive to outdoor
activity, much less swim-
ming, the opening of Judith
Gooderham Pool and the
beach area is but a few weeks
away.
The pool is scheduled to
open June 5 and the beach
will be patrolled June 30
through to the Labor Day
weekend.
At the last regular meeting
the Recreation board ap-
proved the hiring of nine
people at the pool and four for
the beach in a recorded vote.
Carole Stewart is pool
supervisor, Jennifer
Anderson, head guard and the
remaining staff includes Sam
