The Goderich Great Ride
for Cancer gets underway
this Sunday, May 7 com-
mencing at 2 p.m. at the
Suncoast Mall on Bayfield
Road. Those riders par-
ticipating may register at the
mall between 11 a.m. and 2
p.m.
A route 15 kilometres long
has been set entirely within
the town, finishing as well as
beginning at the mall. Both
riders and sponsors are
needed.
Riders may pick up their
sponsor sheets at Zehrs,
Nakamura Pharmacy, Bill
Kirkey's Texaco Station,
Radio Shack or any of the
banks in town. While these
sponsor sheets call the event
"The Ladies' Great Ride for
Cancer," there should be no
mistake about who is allowed
to participate in the ride.
Men, women and children are
all invited to take part.
Children under 12 should be
accompanied by an adult
though.
The Goderich Kinsmen
Club has agreed to co”
ordinate the 1978 bike-a-thon
for cancer in this town. If any
additional information is
needed about the ride, ,call
Ray Marshall at 524-9132.
Refreshments will ' be
served en route and check
points and rest centres will
also be set up along the way:
In case of rain, the postpone
date for the ride will be May
28.
'Therules and regulations
for the ride are as follows:
bike riders•should ride single
file, 30 feet apart. They
should ride with the traffic
yielding to it when necessary
and using signals to warn
drivers of their "moves".
Riders ,should adjust their
speed , to always ensure
complete control of their
bikes. Participants are at
their own risk. If involvement
can endanger a riders
health, that rider will be
asked to withdraw from the
ride.
Proceeds from the ride
should be designated Cancer
Campaign of Goderich
Branch, Cancer Society.
Pledges, when collected,
should be taken to The Bank
of Montreal ingCoderich. The
ride cannot exceed 15
kilometres.
Sq, get your bicycle out,
gather up some sponsors and
go to Suncoast Mall between
11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Let's make
the Goderich ride a success.

Hessel
hits 25
John Hessel, Goderich had
a perfect score of 25 at the
Vanastra Gun Club's weekly
skeet shoot on April 29.
Harrison Schlock, Zurich
and Tom Allen, Londesboro
came close with scores of 24,
while Bill Stewat't, Goderich
and Bill Pincombe, Toronto
both hit 23.

This is the 15 kilometer route set for the Goderich Great
Ride for Cancer on Sunday commencing at 2 p:in, The ride
begins and ends at Suncoast Mall and there are various
check points and rest centres set up along the way.
Registration begins at • 11 a.m. and men, women and
children are all urged to take, part in the 'ride. Children
under 12 must be accompanied by ,an adult though. With
your' help, Cancer Can Be Beaten1 For any further in-
