The Goderich Signal-Star, 1977-12-22, Page 89Card for Canadians
To My Canadians
It is customary at Christ-
mas time to send out
greetings. I would, if Prime
Minister, just once, like to
send a Chistmas card to
every Canadian.
As Prime Minister, I would
find out name and address of
all Canadian citizens. The
nicest cards that I could find
would be sent. I would get
then a big stamp with all the
names of the parliment
members. My name would go
under this. Before these
names there would be a short
verse. It would -go something
along this line:
THE PRIME MINISTER
AND THE MEMBERS OF
PARLIAMENT OF THE
BEAUTIFUL COUNTRY
OF CANADA WISH
YOU THE MERRIEST
CHRISTMAS AND AN
EVEN BETTER NEW
YEAR.
As it would be pretty hard
to get all of the Canadian's
names, I would send out an
unaddressed envelope, the
ones like advertisments come
in.
The best part of all to me
would not be the feeling that I
did it, but rather I would like
to know the people's reaction.,
I would like to know how they
feel.
Somehow, I would try to
find out by maybe checking
the garbage after Chistmas
Morning to see if they threw
away the card. I would hope
that they; would keep it.
Someday, If I ever become
Prime Minister, I think the
best Christmas present I
could give to Canadians is a
card.

A Desire
Every night, I go out to the
barn and do my chores.
Almost all the time, I help my
brother with his because he is
so slow.
I wish that he would hurry
so that we could get done
sooner. If he did this I would
be happier because I would
get to watch television sooner
and longer. Also if 1 don't help
him my father gets mad. This
is because he doesn't like him
to be out there by himself.
When he gets mad nothing
goes right.
This would all be un-
necessary if he did his work
faster and more efficient.
Then everybody, would be
happy.

MY GIFT
FOR CANADIANS
If I was Prime Minister this
Christmas I would give
Canadians jobs in mining and
teaching but first I would
have to get workers to build
more schools and get people
to have more children! Also I
would let the tax rates down
25 per cent. The price of milk
go up and the cost of living go
down. I would per suade
Quebec not 'to separate. Only
let people over 19 have guns
and with a licence! Finally (if
I had lots of money) I would
give every famil t least
$500.00 in a Christmas us.

THE LAST CHRISTMAS
PRESENT
1 went to Canadian Tire and I
looked for a present for a
special person that 1 ,know.
Then I went to Home Hard -
Ware to get what I couldn't
get at Canadian Tire and
Home Hardware did not have
it. By this point it was Dec. 3.
The present was a grinder for
my mom. Then I went to
London with my Dad and I
found the grinder in Simpson
Sears. My dad took a fit when
he saw the price. He said the
price was $56 so we went back
to Goderich. So the next day I
started to shovel drive ways.
By Dec. 22 I had $60 so I went
to London on the 23 of Dec.
and I got the present. When
my mother opened it she
came over to me and gave me
kiss. Then she said thank -you
for the Christmas present
Robert.
