tlhe-r lives while returning hone in
then car from the Ford picnic at
Grand Bend on 'Wednesday night of
last week. They were a mile or so to
the east of Dashwood, and while pass-
eig another ,car at a narrow , place
on. the, road, the car ran off the edge
of a culvert, where the ditch was
several feet deep, Mrs. Swann was
badly shaken up, but sustained no
broken limbs, while the other pass-
enger; escaped with but slight bruis-
es. The car was practically new and
vena badly damaged, tined had to be left
there until next day. The occupants
were taken home in. another car.

DEATH OF 11IISS PARSONS,
' The sad news was wired here on
'Thursday evening cast of the death
that afternoon at Mayo Hospital
Rochester, Minn, 'of hiss Ruby Eve -
leen. Parsons, daughlter of Mr. and
'12rs. Samuel Parsons., London Road
South; at the age of 19 years, 2
month, and 14 d a. s.. Miss Parsgns
two weeks ago had gone to Rochester
to undergo an operation for gaiten
The operation, was supposed to ha're
been, a success, but her weakened con-
dition. was unable to stand .the strain
and she passed away, The body was
brought here on Saturday morning and
the funeral, which was of a private
nature. took place from, the family
residence on Sunday afternoon to Ex-
eter cemetery. The late Miss Parsons
was a bright young lady and a general
faro:ate. Besides her bereaved par-
ents she leaves twp sisters and five
brothers, all of whom are either at
home or residing in the neighborhood.
The family have the sincere sympatl
of a wide eirele of friends.
DEATH OF AG1,D RESIDENT;
On, Saturday, July 30th, the death
occurred at her horn., Main, _Street
of Mrs. Mary Ramsay, widow of the
late James Ramsay, at the age of 39
years, 11 months and 28 days. Mrs.
Ramsay had been in deelirtiang health
for some time, Otte to .the infirmities
of old age. Born in Forfarsbire, Scot-
land, she cave toCanada with her int -
her, the late David :Miller, sin- 185.4,r
Three years later she married 11Er.
.Ramsay and for four years resided in
London, then coming ,to Exeter, and
this has been, her home ever since,
She was a faithful member of • Caven
P:nesby^ter. ian Church and highly re-
speeted by all who knew her. Ain
Ramsay died in June of 1903. Sias

Toronto, Thomas. of Hamilton, James
of Washington, I3,C„ Dr, Aactltur of
Edmonton, Mr,. Robert Hagen, of
Sault Ste Marie,'and Mary Ellen at
home, all of whom with the excep-
tion. of Arthur, were hoiite for the
funeral, which took place on Tuesday
afternoon to the Exeter cement.

'Toronto who have been visiting here
have returned to their home, accom-
panied by the former's Another, Mrs,

time.
