Those Grade 6 students at Brookside Public School performed some Fractured Fairy Tales for their fellow students in the school Christmas Concert recently. Here's advice from the Joint Fire Prevention Publicity Committee of Canada: • Your evergreerr Christmas tree and its decorations are potential fire hazards. They head the list of a sensible family's preparations for a happy holiday. • Your tree should be fresh. A dry tree readily sheds its needles. Keep your tree outdoors until you are ready to decorate. Indoors, keep the tree standing in water, after cutting off at least an inch from the butt. Replenish the water daily. • Your electric lighting strings should be checked for frayed cords or short circuits. Buy only CSA approved sets. Use non.flamrnable decorations. Disconnect the lights when leaving home or going to fed. Candles, of course, constitute added hazards. " Keep matches out of the reach of little hands.
