The Goderich Township WI
held their December meeting
on the Holmesville Public
School recently.
Bernice Mcllwain opened
the meeting and welcomed
the ladies, and Alice Porter
read the minutes and
correspondence.
Laura McLarty introduced
the guest speaker for the
evening, John Kane from
Colborne Central School.
Four girls, Patti and Kathy
Shoemaker, Lori Dykstra and
Karen Hyde also came along
to demonstrate rhythmics
exercises to music. Some of
the WI members also joined
in.
Mr. Kane explained to the
adies how these exercises
:an help our bodies and
ninds and how they are used
n the schools. Laura thanked
vlr. Kane and the girls for
:oming.
The social part of the
evening was an international
Christmas _theme__The ....._con-
veners
on-veners picked a country and
look their food and en-
tertainment to match. Marion
Powell chose Mexico, Millie
Dempsey and Margaret
Coombs chose the Orient and
Evelyn Holland took Holland.
The ladies decided that the
dates for card parties would
be January 12 and 26 at 8:15
p.m, at the Holmesville
School.
After the collection was
received, everyone enjoyed
singing some carols and
lunch was served.

carol service at Christ
Church in Port Albert on
Sunday. Everyone enjoyed
the social time after at the pot
luck supper.
A service will be held
Saturday evening, December
24 at 8 p.m. Because of this
Christmas Eve service there
will be no church service on
December 25. Everyone is
welcome to the Christmas
Eve service.

Ray Shantz said he was
tired of sliding down the lake
hill so he and Mrs. Shantz are
heading for Florida this
week.
Word was received here
Saturday of the death of Mr.
Alex Trumbley, a former
resident of Port Albert. He
was 76.
Mr. Don Bowden of London
who grew up here and was
well-known for his ability on
the ball field suffered a heart
attack. His many friends wish
him a speedy recovery.
