Due to the higher cost of providing service, The Goderich P.U.C. has
found it necessary to increase its electrical rates for 1978 as of January 1,
SUBJECT TO ONTARIO HYDRO APPROVAL.
Our cost for bulk power from Ontario Hydro has increased by 9.7%.
However, due to favourable economic factors and export sales experien-
ced in 1977, Ontario Hydro will pass on to The Goderich P.U.C. a rebate
estimated to be 110,970.00. This rebate which will be spread over the en-
tire year has reduced your increase for electricity to an average of 6.6%.
It is not expected that any such "windfall" will occur in 1978, and
therefore, it is anticipated that the increase in electrical rates for 1979
will be considerably higher.
