Midgets grafi Kincardine
The Goderich Green and
Parent Midgets played three
away games this past
weekend, winning one of the
three.
Saturday night, they visited

home a 9-3 Vin, Mike Hodges
started the scoring for
Goderich, on a pass from
Roger Lewis, Mike Larkin.

scoring with Rob Trebish
picking up the assist.
Goderich came- out strong
in the second .period, scoring
three goals to Kincardine's
one, Mike Larkin got his
second goal on passes from
Jim Costello and John
Clements. Jim Costello got an

with 2:47 played in the second
Shelton scored his second of
the Goderich barrage. Rau
assisted on Shelton's goal.
The Sailors coasted for
awhile waiting until 11:31 to
score again, Ken Meriam
finished off the Sailors'
second period attack with
help from Kelly and McIntire.

with. just over a minute left to
end the second period down 7-
1.

Steve Buchanan clicked for
his second goal of the night
halfway through the final
period with help from Paul
Rau: Kevin Meriam got into
the act: two minutes later with
help from Ken Meriam and
McIntire and at 17:55 Duncan
got his third goal, the last
Sailor score, with help from
Ken Meriam. Wingham
grabbed their second with a
minute and a half remaining.
The Sailors face Port Elgin
on'Friday; December 23 at
8:30 in the Goderich arena.
Lewis was set up by Mike
Hodges and Larry Da_er.
This ended the second
period, but Goderich wasn't
finished getting four more
goals in the third period. Mike
Hodges started Goderich off
assisted by Rob MacDonald
and Roger Lewis. Mike
'Larkin got his hat trick, on a
pass frorii Jini Costello.
Roger Lewis tucked it past
the goalie, with a little help
from Mike Hodges, and Milt""
Larkin finished off with Terry
Kisch collecting the assist.
Both goal tenders, Gerry
Gaynor and Stephen Gallow
played strong games.•
The midgets travelled to
Hanover Sunday night, and
got a rather surprising loss,
after heating Hanover 18-3
and 7-2 early in the season.
Hanover got the first three
goals of the game, as
Goderich didn't start scoring
until the second period. Rob
Maitland four competes

The first draw of curling
has ended as the Christmas
holidays begin. Well behaved
curlers will be looking for a
sleigh filled with brooms,
slide patches, gloves and
sweaters, Of course many of
the teams seemed to do quite
well with their old brooms.

King, Ann Kuran and
Vivian Takalo were un-
defeated and placed first in
the Tuesday afternoon
league. Second place went to
Lynn Edward, Lois Vanstone,
Jean McGee, and Sally
McEwan. Bernice Moore,
Eleanor Fisher, Muriel
Murphy, and Joann
McCallum finished third,
On Wednesday evening
Maxine Martin, Chris Turner,
Elaine Worsell, and Ann
Mclsaac were the undefeated
winners. Second place was
captured by Jean McGee,
Marg DeBolt, and Vivian
Takalo. Kay Duncan, Monica
Page, Gayle ., McCaul and
Beth Eveleigh placed third.
The Maitland Country Club
was well represented in' -the
Ladies Provincials at
Walkerton by Phyl Durst,
Lois Vanstone, Bernice
Moore, and Eleanor Fisher.
The first day the team had
one win and one loss. Coming
back with a third win, they
lost a very close fourth game.
The last, but not least, draw
of 1977 was won by Dorthy
Bogie. She held .the lucky
ticket on the Christmas
centerpiece.
The next draw will begin
January 3 for the Tuesday
afternoon league . and
January 4 for Wednesday
evening. Anyone could win -
provided you're curling.'The
club is always looking for new
faces, so come down and join
the fun. Pay -as -you -play is a
great way to give it a try and
babysitting is available
Tuesday afternoons.

after being set up by Rob
McDonald and Ken Raid. -

For the midgets third
game, they visited Listowel,
and got handed their second
loss.
Listowel started Off the
scoring. Rob Trehish n-
swered hack during a shuffle
in front of the net. Dan
Maillet got the assist.
Listowel scored their second
goal, ending the first period,
with a 2-1 score.
Ken Reid started off the
second period for Goderich,
letting a shot go from the
point, assisted by Mike
Hodges. Listowel answered,
aid Goderich finished the
second period on a goal from
Mike Hodges. Assists went to
Rob 'l'rebish ,and Terry
Berlet.
In the third period Listowel
got two more goals, and
Goderich only picked up one.
Roger Lewis got a beautiful
goal, on a well set up play by
Mike Larkin and Mike
Hodges. Leaving the final
score 5-4 for Listcwel.
Gerry Gaynor played an
excellent game in net. kicking
out many shots.
The midgets are finished
now, until December 29 when
they play in the Winter games
in Kincardine.
