With a perfect winter's day and the gaiety of Christmas in their hearts, a delightful time was spent by the congregation. Mrs. Rhoda MacKenzie was hostess to the WMS cif Ashfield Presbyterian Church at a pot -luck dinner on Thursday after which the Christmas meeting was held. SOCIAL NEWS Stormy weather on Friday and Saturday prevented travel yin the area, and several found themselves staying overnight with friends if they ventured out. Several who attendedthe funeral of Gordon Finlayson were forced to spend a few extra days in the area due to bad roads and stormy con= ditions. From a distance attending the funeral were Mr. John Finlayson of Caracas, in South America: Mr. Mac Finlayson and J. F. MacDonald of Toronto; Mr. and Mrs.. Stewart Jamieson and George Finlayson of Warton and Mr. Ron Hen- derson of Burlington; and Mr. Ron Henderson of Burlington as well as Mr. and Mrs. Ken Littlejohn. Also attending were Duncan, Kenneth' and Sarabelle all of Toronto. Attending the NFU Con- vention in Saskatoon were Mr, and Mrs. Lorne MacDonald and Mr. Lorne Luther.
