Department promptly an-
swered a call Sunday mor-
ning when a corn dryer on the
farm of Wm. Bogie, R.R.4
Goderich caught fire. For-
tunately this was noticed in
time to get help and prevent
extensive damage, but any
fire is,; serious • and causes
considerable loss. While the
damage to the corn was not
total there was considerable
damage and loss to the corn
dryer. ,

Santa Claus Parade on
Saturday December 3. The

At the annual convention of
the Ontario Federation of
Agriculture held November
28-30 in Hamilton, the O.F.A.
Grains Committee presented
a corn marketing proposal,
recommending a negotiating
type board with low level
functions. This proposal
would provide a spokesman
for corn growers, allow corn
growers to qualify for federal
advance payments and also
negotiate for federal and
provincial stabilization plans.
Maximum corn handling
and drying charges with
elevator operators would be a
concern of this board as well
as ensuring price premiums
for top grade corn. Marketing
and trade information would
be gathered and made
available and exPor
portunities promoted.
